BMW Toronto Reviews (%countItem)

Hi,

I am writing to complain about the service on my BMW 2014 BMW 328D.
I bought this car 11/17/2018 the ENGINE lights went on the next day then it go off, then it was like that for a week so I contacted the salesman 11/24/18 but he said BMW is sensitive so just wait for the light go off. So the light keep go off and on so finally the dealer replaced the battery 2/20/2018.
- After the dealer replaced the battery the ENGINE light still goes on and off but I was busy and away till the recall came.
- 9/30/19 Brought the car in for the Recall 18VXXXXXX EGR valve and I got the report that everything was fine. However, the ENGINE light still going on and off so I seek for mechanics outside BMW.
- 2 reports from different mechanic say the ENGINE light go on due to the EGR malfuntion.

- 1/5/20 went back to BMW dealer for diagnosis, came back with report the EGR valve was damaged. It is not covered under recall. The valve was damaged due to the failure of the EGR since it is ONE UNIT.

My arguments are:

1) Dealer did not sell fully serviced car to me. ***
2) The car was not diagnosed by professional
3) The EGR Valve is part of the EGR - why I have to pay for the recall. (Please see recall NOTES below -

NHTSA Vehicle Safety Recalls
Recall Number
18VXXXXXX
Recall Date
10/25/2018
Component
ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:EMISSION CONTROL:GAS RECIRCULATION VALVE (EGR VALVE)
Summary
BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain 2013-2018 BMW 328d and 328d xDrive, 2014-2018 328d Sports Wagon and 328d xDrive Sports Wagon, 2014-2016 535d and 535d xDrive, 2015 740Ld xDrive, 2015-2017 X3 xDrive28d SAV and 2014-2017 X5 xDrive35d SAV vehicles equipped with an Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) module with an integrated cooler. If the EGR cooler leaks internally, the coolant can mix with diesel engine soot. The high EGR temperatures may result in these particles possibly smoldering and melting the intake manifold.
Consequence
The melting intake manifold can increase the risk of a fire.
What Owners Should Do
BMW will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and replace the EGR cooler as necessary. If a leak has already occurred, the engine intake manifold will also be replaced. These repairs will be made free of charge. The recall began May 13, 2019. Owners may contact BMW customer service at X-XXX-XXX-XXXX.

Desired Outcome

The repair is under the recall and should not be charged.

Good afternoon,
Thank you for reaching out and processing your concern. The BMW recall performed on the vehicle was to check the EGR cooler and replace if required. We had inspected the EGR cooler and it passed at the time of the inspection. The client returned and it required an EGR valve replacement. The EGR valve is not a part to be replaced under the recall, only the EGR cooler. ***
Thank you

Really appreciate the help. You guys always come through. They called me on 04/17 and gave my deposit back

My car was bought in 10. 24. 2014. the model number is 14/BMW SAV/X6 35IX N55/X6 XDRIVE 35I. The vehicle number is 5UXFG2C5***XXXXX. I don't know why the water has been leaking. Rain will enter the circuit box. The water depth was nearly 6 cm, which caused a short circuit and made my trunk door unusable. In 2016, I went to 4S shop to repair once. The repairman said they didn't know where the water came in. He also said that it had been repaired for me. But at the end of 2018, I found that all the water in the circuit box caused the short circuit. I'll go to 4S shop. They said they were not responsible. I need about 7000 yuan for maintenance.

Desired Outcome

Test where is the leak? Repair my trunk door.
