I read the response If you could have them show me any documentation on where I had acknowledged that my $would not be transferred or forfeited, then what they say makes sense As a matter of fact, if they can show me any proof, be it text message or email or any signed document as to where they indicated that this $would not be applied towards the second Camp, I can agree to it.Thanks,***

To Whome it may concern, This gentlemen was told that his non-refundable deposit was to hold his place We are a small business and we had no idea he was going to cancel the beginning of camp We let him stay for the second camp in good faith after we told him his deposit was lost and again he left without paying He had a full day of camp worth at least 100$ including a hat and trainers He owes us money We have lost a total of 600$ because we did this in good faith He was supposed to pay the entire amount a week before camp and again he held out We only ask our customers to sign a release of liability and inform them by word of mouth about the deposit and getting the payment in We have never had a problem until this gentleman created it

We run a family owned horse boarding facility. During the summer we have started to run a children's week long day "horse camp". The 1st camp session this year started June 19-23.  The client had signed up his daughter, and paid the required $100 deposit to hold a spot for her in camp. We...

requested that full payment be due a week before camp. He gave various reasons why he could not mail a check in on time, so we told him he could bring in the full payment balance of $250 to the first day of camp. At 9am the morning of the first day (when camp had already started) he text our trainer to let her know his daughter would not be coming.  We had a wait list of kids waiting to fill that spot. Therefore, we lost $250 by his failure to show. After that week, we decided to open an additional week of camp due to demand.  He then contacted our trainer to ask if his daughter could be enrolled in that camp. He asked us if the $100 deposit could be applied to the 2nd session of camp, and we told him "No."  Again, he failed to send the full payment prior to the first day of camp. On the first day of the 2nd session of camp his daughter was enrolled in, he refused to pay the full $350 for the week of camp. He demanded that his now forfeited $100 deposit be applied, even though we had previously told him it would not be.  I was out of town (in Canada) for a few days, so the trainer told him he had to make the full payment, and so did my fiancee who had to step in to talk to him, as he was trying to negotiate this while camp had already started.  She then had 2 additional conversations with him that first day (all the while his daughter was participating in camp he had yet to pay for).  Both the trainer and my fiancee had tried to explain to him multiple times that the $100 deposit was lost as he did not give us any notice that he would not show up, and that we in fact had a wait list, and he therefore took up another child's camp spot, and we lost $250 due to his inconsideration. At the end of her 3rd discussion with him, she told him if he wasn't going to pay the full amount, we did not want his business.  He ended up not returning, did not pay for the fraction of camp his daughter did participate in, and we  lost $600 in revenue because he held spots that could have gone to other 2 kids. If anything, this client owes us money for signing up for camp, and not paying the sessions he held spots for. His daughter got a day of camp for free. We made it very clear, and it was clear to everyone else that the $100 was to hold a spot in camp. His daughter's spot was held. We told him ahead of the 2nd session of camp that the $100 would not be applied.  We do not owe him anything. Sincerely,[redacted]Boarding on the Lake
