Boat Rentals and Rides

The complainant rented a boat from our company and she damaged it She refused to pay for the fuel she used during the rental We tried to resolve the matter with the complainant, and she threatened to publish defamatory and libelous statements against our company if we persisted in

Review: This company mis-represented the product that they were renting and then charged us way more than the agreed upon fee.Desired Settlement: Notify other potential customers of the dishonesty of this company.

Review: I reserved the use of two Seadoo jet skis for the days July 4th and 5th, 2014. The time blocks for our rentals were 12:00pm to 5:00pm on both days. On the first day the company was an hour late and provided poor service. I was given a series of forms to sign with little explanation and was told that I would receive a copy but one was never provided. When we returned the jet skis the owner, [redacted] immediately began grilling us about our use of the jet skis and said he had noticed that one of them was smoking. There was never any smoke coming out of the jet skis during the time that we used them, only the exhaust that you always see out of a two stroke engine. He kept on saying that he would have to take them out of the water to check the condition but not before he gave the jet skis to his next customers that had reserved the 5:00pm to 10:00pm time block.An hour after returning the jet skis I was contacted by American Express telling me that the card I had used for the jet ski rental had just received fraudulent charges of over $5000. This was the first time in the seven years that I have had this card that this had happened.The following morning I was contacted by [redacted] that he wanted to meet at a restaurant to discuss things. He began a well rehearsed speech on how he dropped off the jet skis at his mechanic (This had to be between 10:00 pm on July 4th and the next morning). He estimated that there were between $6000 to $8000 of damage (Never specified which jet ski). He showed us pictures of the damage which could have been taken from any jet ski at any time. He said I had three choices. The first was to buy the jet skis off of him that day. The second was to pay for the damages and lost profits he would have which he estimated to be $50,000. The final choice was that he would meet me in court. I chose the latter and was not given a refund for July 5th.This scam artist creates fraudulent damage accusations without actual evidence against their customers.Desired Settlement: I am not interested in receiving my lost $400 for the jet ski rentals. I just want to warn other customers that this is a bad company to do business with. They made unjustified accusations against us without any proof tried to scare us into giving them money for their falsified claims.
