Review: The more I think about this the more madder I get: Had RSVP'd for the 24 Oct Birthday Bash at the Boat House. My son had a 25 Oct birthday. As we were brought to our table the greeter asked "who has the birthday?" and I informed her my son. The next female attendant who came, I told her we came for the birthday steak for my son but I was not sure what I was going to get. She asked what we wanted to drink, my son said he wanted a beer but being he did not turn 21 till the next day, she said she could not get him his beer till he was 21. So when she came a second time,brought the water for him and tea for me. I said I will get the filet mignon. She asked me how I wanted my steak and I said "med rare." She asked my son how he wanted his steak and he said the same, med rare. She came with the two steaks and we ate even when the rest of our party came.When I get the bill it is for 2 filets! I said what is this bill about?She said when she asked my son "what type of steak you want, he said the same." I said that he responded to "how do you want your steak?" Not what she said. But she insisted we were at fault and should pay.Desired Settlement: I think because she forgot what was ordered the first time (the birthday steak which I stated when we sat down,that when she came back a second time, she assumed it was two filets.

There are a few issues with this complaint that I feel was handled quite appropriately from our employee; particularly an underage person trying to order alcohol. The server in this situation is also one of 4 managers we have at the Boathouse. Honestly my only response is there is clearly a miscommunication with what was being ordered. We serve over 300 FREE prime rib dinners on any given Birthday Night, and being that I was the GM working that night; I did not have any customer complain or have any issues with their food or a bill. With that said, I have no problem giving a credit to this customer for their steak. Although when a bill is presented and a guest reviews the bill and then pays the bill they are approving all charges. Regardless please forward my response and if the guests can give me the credit card that they used I can credit the $28.00.
