I sent a letter to [redacted] of Rainbow Movers on July 30, 2014 giving a list of missing and broken items. Also, on numerous occasions I spoke with Rainbow Movers and could not come to an agreement with them and after numerous calls to Rainbow leaving messages, and no one returned my calls. They sent me instead a Check for 500. I felt this was not a reasonable amount nor did I accept this amount for my losses therefore I sent the check back to them.I am requesting the amount of $1500 to settle the matter. Customer goods came into storage from VA back in July of 2006. Goods had been in storage for 8 years. All items were packed from another mover in VA. At the time of delivery out of storage to customer in April 2014, no notations were made to any missing items on any of the paperwork....
Customer filed claim which we reviewed based upon the list of items from the customer. Many of the items were valued by customer based upon sentimental value and not actual value to replace the items today. The claim was settled based upon the customer information from claim form. We received a letter from the customer last week, now stating that a mirror is missing and many of the other items not listed that were initially claimed and this is 1 year after the delivery was made. The claim was settled fairly and in accordance with our process.
Dear Mrs. [redacted]:Our claims process is extensive and careful research on the replacement of items or repair of those items is based upon market research for pricing that is currently on the open market.Valuation does not include the replacement of items based upon sentimentality.Our decision is firm on the resolution on this claim as $500.00.
