I would like to file a complaint against Bob Bowen’s Auto Service, located at 7191 Alvarado Road, La Mesa, CA 91941. I took my car into Bob Bowen’s for an oil change, which, of course, they check for any other problems with the car to make additional money. The technician came to me with a list of repairs he said needed to be done. I asked the technician to list the repairs in order of their importance.
According to the technician, the mounts on the car needed to be done first, as being the most important. He had my car hoisted up and showed me two areas that looked split and supposedly, worn out.
I realize now that the technician at Bob Bowen’s Auto Service had every intention of cheating me out of the actual repair. The following year, my car starting making a noise louder than usual, so I had my brother-in-law, who is a mechanic, to look the car over. I showed him the area where the technician at Bob Bowen’s said the mounts were split and worn out. My brother-in-law said that was not where the mounts are located. He looked at the actual mounts on my car and said that they had not been replaced, in fact, it appears that they are still the original mounts.
To confirm what my brother-in-law said, I took my car to the dealership, Ball Acura-Honda -Mitsubishi for an oil change and inspection. Ball Automotive had listed on my receipt that mounts were needed, so obviously the work by Bob Bowen’s as the mounts shout last at least 5 years.
I reported to Discover Card Company the incident that occurred with Bob Bowen's Auto Service and they investigated and was given a receipt of a job done, but not what the job was for, so they did not obtain proof that the service was done. In Bob Bowen’s Auto Service's response to Discover Card, under the Description of Merchandise, they listed “General Merchandise/services and not what was supposedly done. Bob Bowen’s Auto Service just ripped me off and not replace my mounts.
