Bob Harper Ford Reviews (2)

This van was brought to us and the van axle was broken that was to be covered by a national Ford recallThe owner had plenty of time to get it fixed but had waited until the last minute and the van was in terrible conditionThe recall had almost elapsed but Ford honored itWe fixed it but with
all the things that were wrong with the vehicle there was damage to the rim and wheel as wellI asked why he'd waited so long to have the issues fixed and he did not have an answerFord approved the recall repairs but would not cover a rentalWe did the repairs and we believed he'd left happy because Ford paid everything that they could coverThe tow bill of $is not something we nor Ford would reimburseThe $that he was left with was for what was outside of what Ford would cover but was necessary to make the vehicle roll again safelyHe is requesting reimbursement for the cost of the rental he got but Ford did not cover that cost and we will not either

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: was ASSURED when asked that we would be provided a loaner car had one been available (which would have been at no charge); since a loaner supposedly wasn't available at the time, was instructed to rent a car that WOULD BE COVERED IN FULL (and had to arrange in Paducah KY)Dealer had van much longer than we were told originally, so caused an even larger rental car billVan was not taken in before because WE DID NOT KNOW ABOUT THE RECALL, was never at any time notified; had to find out about it online AFTER the axle had broken(note: Even had we taken it in, dealer admitted Ford was not actually even repairing the vehicles, only adding a bracket that would not have stopped the axle from breakingThose poor people that got that "remedy" are in the midst of a class action suit against Ford so it wouldn't have even done any good to have taken it in before anyway!)Ford dealer is representing Ford and SHOULD NOT HAVE PROMISED covering the rental fees, then when picking up the van CHANGE and RENEGE on PROMISEWe were not complaining about the other repairs/charges (only mentioned them to show all other charges involved) but complaint filed due to a promise broken of the car rental fees ONLYWe would have made other arrangements otherwise had the dealer not promised to cover the rental fees; they should have verified it beforehand with Ford if there was any question instead of promising to do soThe fact remains, DEALER PROMISED COVERING RENTAL CHARGESThe van is a work vehicle, and worked just fine before the axle broke, and its condition otherwise had absolutely nothing to do with FORD'S AXLE PROBLEM for which there was a RECALLIf it were in such horrible shape, why would dealer have REPAIRED the vehicle? Dealer is responsible for car rental fees which they promised to cover; if it was Ford's decision they should have asked them FIRST instead so we could have made an informed decision about incurring car rental feesThey represented to me that there would be no issues at all with covering the rental; they wouldn't have charged for the loaner which they said we were entitled to.
Sincerely,
