This patient had already made a complaint to the Board of Optometry and they dismissed this complaint. Mr [redacted] was in my office at the end of June 2014 and not in October as stated. I will need some more time to get together all the information that I gather and presented to the Board of...

This doctor talks about [redacted] glasses but that is not my complaint. I gave him my own frames to have a new prescription put in. This patient came to my office in June, 2014 not October as he said. In the past, he has used a Watertown address as his home address but on the [redacted] site, he listed as a Dorchester resident. He is on [redacted] having full [redacted] Benefits. I gave this gentleman a full eye examination and has [redacted] eyeglasses made up for him as requested by the patient. At the time of this visit, he gave me a pair of eyeglasses that he wanted made up with single vision lenses with tint. Balance due was 150.00. My office called the patient twice in July, once in early August with no response from the patient. Late in August, the [redacted] eyeglasses came in, patient was called and the [redacted] eyeglasses were picked up. I do know if he personally picked them up or he has a female friend in Watertown who might have them picked them up. The frame that he left was not picked up. We called him in September and spoke directly with the patient. he had promised to pick them up on Thursday which was in two days. He never picked them up nor called us. We continued to call him in Sept. October and November with No response from him. In late October , my office started calling all patients who jobs (eyeglasses or contacts lenses) with us telling the patient we were closing our Newton office in early December and we offered free shipping on any materials once paid. In reality , we agreed to send out patients eyeglasses and or contacts with only a promise of payment. On Thursday in February 2015, the patient and his female friend from Watertown called our emergency number looking for his eyeglasses. I agreed to meet them at the office despite being my day off. They called about noontime and I told them I would be down in one and a half hours. I wanted to leave myself time to locate his eyeglasses. The patient stated that his [redacted] glasses that he picked up in August had completely fallen apart. We rarely if ever have someone complain that their [redacted] eye glasses had fallen apart. Usually, if anything, they are lost.
