Bob Nebbia Painting Contractor

Extremely unprofessional in so many ways. Charged extra before finishing the job and then didn't finish. Paint was so messy and got colored paint on white trim and white paint on colored paint walls in many areas. Also tried to get away with doing one coat so paint was see through. Only painted one side of closet doors. Looked for every way to be cheap. Definition of a sleezeball.

Review: I gave Mr. Robert Nebbia, on October 5, 2014 a check for $1,200 as a down payment to paint/do small repairs on the outside of our house. He gave me no written estimate, just a business card with no business registration or business address listed on it. My husband was also concerned that I had received no written estimate. I called the next morning October 6, to cancel the painting and to get my check back.

Mr. Nebbia said that he had electronically submitted the check to his bank by cell phone, but would send me a check in the mail in a week/week and a half. I called after that time period and was told by Mr. Nebbia that he now was deducting money from my deposit of $1,200 for an estimate charge. Although, within his advertising, he clearly states that he gives free estimates, for example, [redacted] and [redacted] etc.

I went to the local police concerning the matter on October 24th.

I also contacted the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General -Division of Consumer Affairs-PO Box 45025-Newark, NJ 07101 about the matter. They told me that it appears that Mr. Nebbia is operating his business which he states is in [redacted], NJ without it being registered. In addition, he fails to comply with numerous requirements of the Contractors Registration Act.

After numerous calls and messages to Mr. Nebbia to return my money, on November 12, at 6:42AM in the morning, he called me and threatened me with a harassment charge and then hung up the phone.Desired Settlement: $1,200 down payment returned to me.
