Bob Penkhus Volvo Mazda - Motor City Reviews (11)

I have had a hard time getting answers from anyone about the progress of my vehicle repairI was given a loaner that could have gotten me a ticket with an out headlightIt nearly had an empty tank as wellI finally got a car from one of the managers, ***He replaced the loaner and got me my answers after almost a week of my car being in the shopHe said that the Bob Penkhis collision center couldn't get my car done in a timely manner so they took it to another collision center that they contract outNobody thought it would be a good idea to call me and tell me it was being moved and worked on by another collision centerThe communication sucks and it's like pulling teeth to get simple questions answered

I made arrangements to buy a car and sent a $depositI told the salesman that I would send him a check for the balance in time for my daughter to pick the car up and drive it to our home in MissouriNeither my deposit or my word were honored and the car was sold without anyone calling me about itIn my opinion this represented a complete lack of ethics by this businessI have communicated my feelings towards them by Email but do not expect a replyFrankly I do not think they could care lessThis I am afraid is a sign of the times in America

So originally I was very excited to buy my GMC Sierra Although was a little high of an apr for my credit store I did like Ent the creditor and was ready to make the dealI work out of my truck so was happy to have something reliableAbout days into having my truck I saw that it was leaking oil and the check engine light came on and my oil service light was on as well only miles into the last oil changeBob penkhus called and said my loan had changed and that I needed to sign new paper work to finalize the saleWhen I went in I told them about the issue and they said to bring my truck in and they would get it taken care of for meBeing that I work 90-hours a week I rushed through the paper work and was given a loaner until my truck was fixedWell only an hour into having the loaner vehicle I got a flat tire and was told it would be towed at my expense and looking at the paperwork I saw they had upped my apr to 4%as well as be charged for repairs to gmc

A few weeks ago I won a Jeep Liberty that Bob Penkhus donated at a used car give awayUnfortunately the vehicle is not mechanically capable of being drivenI am disappointed in not having a operational vehicleI was having an issue with the dealership about fixing it so I could drive it or even be able to sell itRecently we have come to financial agreement to remedy the situation I really don't have a problem with the company as a wholeI just have an issue with one individual working for Bob Penkhus Since I have never purchased a car from the dealership I am at a disadvantage for a true ratingAfter reading other positive reviews and seeing how long they have been in business I am changing my negative experience to a neutral one and I can't really recommend this businessTo be honest it wouldn't be fairI have never purchased and don't no anyone who has purchased a vehicle from Bob PenkhusI also do not live in Colorado and don't expect anyone to ask me about them

Never buy a car from Bob Penkhus, and here's whyI came in to buy a car from them while my husband was deployed overseas, they took full advantage of this and sold me a Jeep for 23k, which I two days later had appraised at just 15k, why? Let me tell you, the roof leaks in two places, the tires need replacing, the sway bar links were loose and the alignment was offI made them take it back, reluctantly, and VERY rudelyThey messed me around for over a week, the manager is beyond rude and nothing short of a scam artistI finally got another vehicle from them yesterday after countless phone calls and literally having to drive down there every single day to be ignored for hours and pushed around from salesman to salesmanThey already have that Jeep back for sale, this time for 26kSo, beware, just don't go anywhere near them!! The manager is a piece of work, and they love to bully people into service warranties they don't want, with the threat of not closing the deal otherwise
To top it off, their point "inspection" is a minute look over and they do the bare minimum, to include selling tires that already need replaced immediately
Stay far away!!!

Bob Penkhus has HORRIBLE SERVICE all around!! I have NEVER been more insulted "trying" to purchase a vehicle in my life! It literally took more than hours for us to even find someone available to hand us a finance application! We have had negative experiences with Bob Penkhus in the past, but returned this time because they had the exact vehicle we wanted What a mistake!! After more than hours we left without a vehicle and ZERO respect for the Bob Penkhus staff!

I bought a mazda from another bob penkhus location and not only overpaid, but they sold me a warranty that didn't really cover anythingyears later, I am trading this vehicle in a a huge lossThis location had the car we wanted, so decided to try them againI came in with an auto loan all ready an in no need of financing from themThey wanted to run my credit and I declinedThey lied and ran it anyway lowering my credit scoreNow waiting for the alignment promised when I purchased the vehicleI made an appointment and was on timeNow, hours later and not only still waiting for my vehicleDefinitely finding a new car dealership for the next one

I made arrangements to buy a car and sent a $500.00 deposit. I told the salesman that I would send him a check for the balance in time for my daughter to pick the car up and drive it to our home in Missouri. Neither my deposit or my word were honored and the car was sold without anyone calling me about it. In my opinion this represented a complete lack of ethics by this business. I have communicated my feelings towards them by Email but do not expect a reply. Frankly I do not think they could care less. This I am afraid is a sign of the times in America.

I have had a hard time getting answers from anyone about the progress of my vehicle repair. I was given a loaner that could have gotten me a ticket with an out headlight. It nearly had an empty tank as well. I finally got a car from one of the managers, [redacted]. He replaced the loaner and got me my answers after almost a week of my car being in the shop. He said that the Bob Penkhis collision center couldn't get my car done in a timely manner so they took it to another collision center that they contract out. Nobody thought it would be a good idea to call me and tell me it was being moved and worked on by another collision center. The communication sucks and it's like pulling teeth to get simple questions answered.

So originally I was very excited to buy my 2009 GMC Sierra 1500. Although 3.5 was a little high of an apr for my credit store I did like Ent the creditor and was ready to make the deal. I work out of my truck so was happy to have something reliable. About 15 days into having my truck I saw that it was leaking oil and the check engine light came on and my oil service light was on as well only 2000 miles into the last oil change. Bob penkhus called and said my loan had changed and that I needed to sign new paper work to finalize the sale. When I went in I told them about the issue and they said to bring my truck in and they would get it taken care of for me. Being that I work 90-120 hours a week I rushed through the paper work and was given a loaner until my truck was fixed. Well only an hour into having the loaner vehicle I got a flat tire and was told it would be towed at my expense and looking at the paperwork I saw they had upped my apr to 4%. as well as be charged for repairs to gmc

Based on our recent experience purchasing a new car at Bob Penkhus's, we have a few suggestions to pass on so that perhaps your experience may be more pleasant when dealing with their sale's department.

1. Don't trust oral/verbal promises (concerning rebates, discounts for hail damage, etc.)
made by your sale's rep. Get all promises concerning the purchase of your vehicle in writing with the signature of the sale's manager.

2. When you really get serious, request to see 2 important documents pertaining to the sell and purchase of your desired vehicle: (1) WE OWE - DELIVERY CONFIRMATION and (2) PURCHASE PROPOSAL. Spend time reading these 2 documents. Make sure that your sales rep fills out the PURCHASE PROPOSAL completely with the exact figures you were quoted. Also, make sure to ask the sale's rep to explain ANY figures you do not fully understand concerning how they were derived. After you have signed these 2 documents, make SURE the sale's manager also signs both of them. Then request copies.

3. Take these 2 documents and a calculator when you are ready to sign the retail sale contract. Spend serious time making sure everything agrees with the information on the above-mentioned documents before you signature it.

I know this doesn't cover all bases. My husband and I were pretty careless and trusting in our purchasing experience, and it cost us $1,300.
