This review is regarding the way they handled Donut Fest in Brooklyn, NY.
The day before the event I emailed them and asked if the event was still happening as we had a blizzard warning and were already being advised to stay indoors. They said the event was going as planned as "we don't control the weather" and no refunds would be given. The next day was a complete white out, the governor and police issued a travel ban and getting to the venue wasn't possible. A friend sent an email to them again and again they said the event would continue (despite the weather warnings) and no refunds. Complaints began to be posted on their [redacted] page. One woman called the company and was met with disrespect and blatant unprofessionalism - she was even hung up on. Not surprisingly, the [redacted] page disappeared. When it went back up the negative comments were gone, along with a post the admin posted encouraging people to completely defy the travel ban and show up anyway.
One common response from this company was "we need to pay for the venue". I found this highly questionable as this event was advertised as being for charity and that "100% of the profit was going to the NY Food Bank". So if they need people to attend and spend money in order for them to pay the venue, 100% of the profit did NOT go to the Food Bank.
The blizzard did not appear out of nowhere, they had plenty of time to reschedule but chose not to. They refused to compensate ticket holders and offered no resolutions. This company clearly has no idea how to run an event and has successfully proven they know nothing about customer service.
