thank you for contacting us regarding this matter, our response to this matter is as follows; we performed services for Norma Ridenhour, at the time of completion when we were to get paid she added more work over and above the contracted agreement and when we did the work which
occurred an additional 175.00, Norma showed up with a check made out for the contracted price without the additional monies for the add onWe have been in business for over years with complaints, at that time I decided to eat the cost and take the payment for the completed workWe receive final payment only upon completion and customer satisfaction, however a month or so went by and Norma contacted us again wanting to add additional work and claimed we did not complete the job, however we don't take final payment and then days or even months later do more work for freeI did not return her call because instead of asking me to do additional work, she stated we left without completing the job(payment would not have been rendered). I am rejecting this response because:
The job was to build a retaining wall along a drive way and line a parking area with landscape ties. We asked Bobby Z at the time we discussed the work that we wanted the row of ties lining the parking area to be anchored to the ground with rebars or metal pins he indicated that would not be necessary that they would be recessed in the ground. We told him that it would not work to hold the ties in because of cars that could hit the ties and move them, he agreed that he would pin the ties down. The price he quoted us was $2792.00. He called us to say he had the job completed, when we went to check out his work we found that non of the ties were pined down and he left one tie laying on top of another instead of buried in the ground. He did not say that for him to pin the ties down that there would be a charge of $175.00. Ties are never just laid on the ground without being pined down, especially when they are used to line a parking area and cannot be seen when they are covered with snow in the winter. He knew when we paid him that we wanted the one tie to be buried in line with the rest not left to lay on top of anotherOur mistake was paying him for the work before he finished. We did not add more work unto the job, we only wanted it done as we agreed on in the beginning with the quoted price
