In response to the complaint lodged by [redacted] she states "the car ran great at the time of purchase, and did so until 10/9/14". If a motor has a bad rod, there is no way you can grease the noise out of it. If the rod was bad when she purchased it, she would not have been able...

to drive it from Appleton to Ripon without noticing it. The $1300 motor she referred to she said a friend of hers had. When I called salvage yards, I found motors from $400 to $6(10. We send all our work out and the mechanic who does our work said labor would be approximately $400 to install an engine. The reason the salesman disconnected the call with Jessica was that he repeatedly told her she needed to talk to me, she was insisting on a resolution and he could not give it to her. As far as calling her back, she was told to call the car lot back in an hour because I would be there. We did not have her phone number on file, nor did she give it to the salesman.

All our vehicles are marked "AS IS" and no warranties are stated or Implied. All the paperwork was marked "AS IS" as well. We are sorry this happened but the vehicle is a used car with approximately 180,000 miles on it and the buyer was aware of this. Anything mechanical can break at any time-there is no way to predict a problem. Bob's Auto Mart has been doing business for 61 years. A car dealer does not stay in business that long by misrepresenting its vehicles.

Review: I bought a Jeep Grand Cherokee from the dealership on 9/26/14. The car ran great at the time of purchase and did so until 10/9/14. On the morning of the 9th I wet out to my car to make the 30 mile journey to my college. It was when I step on the accelerator that the jeep started to make a loud knocking noise. I did not know what the knock was and called my mechanic. He came out later that day and determined that a rod was going and therefore the engine would be shot soon. The noise was hidden by the lubrication of a thick motor oil, which the dealer topped off on the day of the purchase. I called the dealership today on 10/10/14 and the salesman said he had to get a hold of his boss and would call back within the hour. He failed to call back so I called him at 1 hour 15 minutes. He said that his boss was willing to send me a check for $400 for a new engine, I declined because the cheapest I could find was $1300, not including labor costs. I requested that the vehicle be returned and I get my full refund. The salesman proceeded to tell me to call back tomorrow when the boss is there. I work tomorrow and do not have time to make a phone call, it is the owner's job to take care of their customer's needs, especially when they have been lied to. When I told the salesman that I would not call back, that it was not my job to call them back, he hung up on me. The forced disconnection of the phone call, faulty claims of the vehicle, and horrible customer service are what have prompted me to file a claim. I am a single mom, working my way through college. I do not have extra money to spend on fixing a car that I was told there was nothing wrong with. This business should be shut down, after this happened, I read similar reviews that the service and product are crap.Desired Settlement: I paid cash for this vehicle on the basis that the car would last a long time and that there were no immediate problems with the vehicle. I expect a full refund in cash and if they want the vehicle back they can pay for a tow truck to come get it at my home, I will not risk my life or my money to drive back a clunker.
