regarding a transaction at my establishment.. if you are familiar with small engine repair and equipment....belt size and length is the only issue involved, my employees gave this customer a better belt the first time and it was the same size and length. this belt was also kevlar wrapped for...
superior strength . customer came back in my store after he tried to install\ and said the belt was wrong and it shredded. a belt cannot tear and shred under normal usage.. can only tear and shred if something on the piece of equipment that its being put on is bad or was installed incorrectly. if this was a repair that my store did and this happened it would have been replaced at no charge... I cannot stand by an over the counter part that wasn’t installed by me. I also was going sell him another belt the same size and length at my cost with the explanation that there was something he was doing on his end or his equipment was faulty causing the belt to go bad but he wouldn’t listen. I work with thousand of customers per year and have been for nearly 25 years this is a standard over the counter policy in all small engine shops and its one that I also follow.
