Complaint[redacted] tried to improperly tow a car and then demanded $50 and when confronted refused to give a refund and cursed at me. see above. I believe that he engaged in predatory towing tactics and then extorted money when he was incorrect.Desired Settlement$50.00Business Response My company received a call about an illegally parked vehicle. There are multiple signs in the parking lot stating that you must have a permit to park in the lot. The vehicle did not have the proper tags to park in the lot. When "confronted" the customer became irate when informed that there are no refunds. There are multiple signs in the parking lot stating that you must have a permit to park in the lot. Consumer Response The car had the proper permit which is why the company could not tow it. instead, the owner of the company was upset he was called out and could not tow the car so intimidated the car owner, a teenage girl confronted by a 300 pound adult, into having to pay $50. When confronted on the phone the owner told the victim's father to "[redacted]". In my opinion the worst form of extortion, which is why the credit card company sided with the car owner and refused payment of the charges. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. Final Business Response The car did not have the proper permit at the time ofthe call. We were called out by the apartment complex to come and tow the car. There are numerous signs stating that the car will be towed at the OWNERS EXPENSE. An improperly parked vehicle can fetch a fee of $125 which was explained to the caller, who became irate and demanded a refund of money because he had not placed the permit in the car at the time of towing.

One of [redacted]s towing workers insisted on using a flat bed for my car after I have told him multiple times to call his manager because he needs a recker ([redacted]) because my front axle was broke. but he insisted he knew what he was doing. So, I saw him making little damage so I told him to stop but he insisted. Next thing I know my front bumper broke in half. I then asked what are we going to do about this, he stayed that his manager would be contacting me in the next couple of days which did not happen so I contacted him, the manager ([redacted]) stated that I signed a form saying that I knew it was A possibility damage could be done, I stated to him over and over I never signed anything and could he forward it to me which took him about 2hrs to do so. Finally I recieved it though email and it was a signature there but it was my moms name, and neither one of our hand writing. Which means [redacted] or his guy signed my mom name!!!Desired SettlementI want them to fix my bumper, and to be charged with fraudulent.

My [redacted] was towed by Bob's towing which resulted in rear body damage to my car. My daughter is a student at [redacted] and rents a house on [redacted]. Parking is limited at her house, so the neibors across the street said it was okay to park in their lot. I guess the owner didn't agree and on 9/4/14 had her car towed while she was in school by Bob's towing. When my daughter went to pick up the car she noticed the back of the car had significant body damage. I live in NJ and spoke to Bob on the phone, but he was very rude and would not reason with me. I advised my daughter to contact the Chapel Hill police to come out and file a report of the damage. When Bob heard that we contacted the police he locked my daughter out of the gate and would not allow her to see the car until the police arrived. The police officer called both my daugher and myself and said that this is not a matter that they would send an officer out for. They would only respond to a criminal complaint. It's different in NJ where I live, becauase a police officer would be sent out to file a report of the damage. The officer advised that she take a picture of the damaage and document what happened. She also has a witness, as her friend who drove her to pickup the car was there during the entire ordeal. She then paid the $150 tow fee in cash and received a receipt.Desired SettlementI am requesting that Bob's towing pay for the cost to repair my car. My car is in excellent condition and my daughter checks the car daily for any signs of damage. My husband will be down in NC from 9/5 to 9/7 and will obtain an estimate of the damage that we will submit to the Revdex.com. I have a picture that I can send immediately if needed.
