Review: On 8/14/2013 I paid Bochek Auto Body a total of $155.10 for some service work on my 1993 Corvette. This sum included $69.95 for "Front end alignment." I requested that the car be aligned. It pulled to the right before I brought the car to the shop, & it pulled just the same after it was supposedly serviced. Upon inspection (& confirmed by a master mechanic) of the tire rods, it is evident that they were not adjusted at all. The car was not aligned, yet I was charged for alignment. I was informed that their mechanic did test drive it. I would suggest joy rode in it. I also paid $65.00 to have new tires (that I provided) installed, mounted & balanced. This was performed incorrectly. This Auto shop advertises "Corvette Repair" on a desk sign in their office. On my Corvette, they should have performed a static balance & installed all the wheel weights on the inside of the rims. Bochek Auto Body installed wheel weights incorrectly on the outside of my Corvette rims. In the words of my master mechanic consultant "ruining my rims." Work Order: [redacted]Desired Settlement: A full refund of $69.95 for "Front end alignment." A full of partial refund of $65.00 for "Dismount 4 tires on vehicle. Mount, balance and install 4 tires (customer supplied) Install new valve stems."

The information you provided from Mr. [redacted] has been reviewed. When the alignment is performed, alignment specs are given to the customer. On the specs it shows the before suspension settings and the after suspension settings (after adjustment/alignment). Our records indicate that there were adjustments done to the front suspension, including tie rods. In regard to the tire balance, static balance means weights are only installed on the inside lip of the rim. It is an option, but the wheels on Mr. [redacted]’s Corvette had weights on both the inside and the outside lips of the wheels when the vehicle came in. This would indicate a standard balance procedure. We installed weights in the same manner as they were previously installed. Enclosed are the alignment specs for the Corvette. The highlighted items are where the adjustments were made. Mr. [redacted] called us one or two days after picking up his vehicle and said the vehicle was pulling. We requested that he return to have us go for a test ride with him. An appointment was made, but he did not keep the appointment. Yours truly,

My complaint against Bochek's Auto Body, ID # is [redacted] was closed, but not resolved. I did not know that I had any response options. I am dissatisfied with the company's response. The alignment was not done properly, the car still pulled to the right the same, meaning it was not in alignment! You and I spoke over the phone several weeks ago. I now have the receipt from the dealership where I had the alignment performed properly. Only 409 miles elapsed between the two alignments, a very unnecessarily short interval. The dealership would not have performed an unnecessary alignment. If Bochek's had done the alignment as they claim (& as I paid for), it certainly would not have ben necessary for the dealership to only 409 miles later. The car certainly did not become misaligned after only 409 miles of driving.
