My wife and I went in and spent several hours viewing apartments with an agentWe were told all of the empty apartments we were looking at were "available for rent." After looking at several apartments we chose oneIt was newEverything was being finishedMy wife and I were both told: "You can move in by Dec*** by paying x fees." We went back to his office, that we were told "accepted credit cards." Then we were told this apartment is "different." They wanted $in cash, which I walked around the neighborhood to find an ATM, because they wouldn't take a debit card or credit card when they told me, and their website says they accept, it suddenly became a "cash on the barrell" dealI got the money, etcWhen I gave them the money and left, they called my wife and said, "Sorry, the apartment was rented yesterday."

Review: On August **, 2014, we used Bohemia to view apartments. We viewed [redacted], which we eventually chose. Bohemia secured exclusive rights to list the apartment. Bohemia, both through the realtor and through its listing, represented the building as "[p]et friendly," "[w]ell maintained," and with a live in super. The apartment was represented as having a "[n]ew designer tile bath[room]."All four of these explicit representations were false. The lease specifically disallowed pets. While both our realtor and Bohemia management assured us that that was irrelevant and all NYC leases have the same clause, we found out after the fact that many apartments allow pets in the lease.Rather than being "[w]ell maintained," the common areas are a disaster. The foyer is always dirty, and often cluttered with trash or construction materials. The lock on the building front door is usually broken, despite contacting building management to fix it. There isn't a lock on the gate from the street to the trash alley, allowing anyone access in. Multiple other tenants, including long-time tenants, have approached us to band together to contact management or ownership about fixing problems. We've approached management numerous times about these issues, to no avail.The "live-in super" actually lived BLOCKS away. Even a sign now posted in the foyer confirms this. Further, we're not even sure if there IS a super. We were told that our super was quitting, and they hadn't hired a new one.The "designer" bath contained a bathtub stopper that never worked. The shower handle broke after two weeks of normal use. Management has refused to fix either.Besides Bohemia's misrepresentations, Bohemia held the exclusive right to show this apartment, and should have vetted management. That certainly didn't happen.Desired Settlement: We paid Bohemia $3,300 in commission for the misrepresented apartment in the misrepresented building. While that entire amount should be returned to us because of the misrepresentations, we are will to hear a reasonable offer from Bohemia, as this would save the time and effort of potential litigation.

Review: My complaint with Bohemia Reality Group is an issue with their advertising, customer service, and billing/refund. I paid a $500 deposit on an apt and applied for an apt. The $500 paid was to work towards the deposit as well as take it off the market (websites and anywhere else it was advertised). The apt was advertised for Oct. * move in at $1700/mo rent. The whole experience was bad from start to finish once I paid the deposit. First Bohemia was not able to get in touch with the landlord because of Jewish holiday and Oct. * came and went. Then I realized that the apt was still being advertised on multiple websites and not only that the price was lowered to $1675. I got a phone call from Bohemia and expressed my displeasure but continued on with the process. I was told since 10/* had come and went that they would just work towards getting me able to move in ASAP. I verbally gave permission to run a credit check on me for another $100. They called me again (after me trying to get in touch with them multiple times with no luck or communication about what the status was) and notified me that not only would I NOT be able to move in until 10/** at earliest but that apparently Con Edison hadn't gotten into the apt to do what they needed to do so the apartment had no electricity and that would push back move in even further. At this point they still had not gotten in touch with the landlord at all (or so they say, I'm not sure). By this time I was very displeased and asked for my $500 deposit back as well as the $100 fee for the credit check. I believe that it should be returned to me (the $500 was returned, I am asking for the $100 credit check fee to be returned along with $21 [redacted] tax I was charged) because I only paid that money because I was told I would be able to move in 10/*. Not only was that not the case but they kept advertising it AND lowered the price. The apartment wasn't even livable by 10/* and I paid money for a credit check under a false impression (they gave me)of the circumstancDesired Settlement: I am asking for $100 credit check fee returned as well as $21 [redacted] tax I paid to pay the credit check and deposit fee. I only applied for an apartment because I thought I could move in 10/*. It wasn't even livable (without electricity) until AFTER 10/* and even at the last contact I had with them they still had not reached the landlord nor was there electricity in the apartment.
