Boingo should clarify their payment optionsWhen signing up in an airport for hour, I was subscribed to an automatic monthly servicePlease don't use fine print and instead let the consumer choose a monthly service for themselves

I once paid for wifi in LAXTHen next time I was in LAX they automatically logged me into a paid account and not LAX free and then charged meWhen I called they told me I had agreed to an as-you-go-plan which gives them the right to charge meWhen I explained that I thought I was just using LAX free wifi and had not been told I was being charged or using the non-free service, the customer service person told me it was in the original agreement and that they didn't have to refund me or notify me that I was using the paid access
This is very important to traveler because if once you login it automatically charges you, then once you have paid, you are stuck in a pay-as-yfee until you call in and cancelSo unethicalI will never do business wit hthe company

I have had Boingo for approximately 5 months. Each month that I have it, the service seems to get worse. This month alone Boingo has worked about half of the time (if even that). This month Boingo WiFi has been down a MINIMUM of 10 days (I've heard more from others that live in my building) and today is 23 July 2016. Even as I type this, the Boingo WiFi service is down. When I've tried to call and resolve the issue, I am put on hold for a minimum of 20-40 minutes. This, I am assuming because everyone else is also calling to complain. I say this because I live on a military installation and we all quite frequently have issues with Boingo WiFi. It is truly a waste of time and money. Over the past 5 months I have spent about $150 on WiFi with Boingo. I should have used that money on my mobile data plan to make it unlimited. That way I know that I would be receiving the service that I am paying for.

Boingo As You go will sign you up for daily charges whenever you pass by a Boingo hotspot and there is no way to unsubscribe. I am so, so sorry I ever gave them my credit card number. I just wanted to talk to my kids. I am still trying to unsubscribe, because they will charge me whenever I pass by their hotspots at $7/day.

I purchased 1 hour of internet service through Boingo at Lambert- STL International Airport (in the airport, not on-board an airplane) and was extremely disappointed with the quality of internet service received. The speed of the internet connection is slow. It was not sufficient to stream (Youtube) or download from iTunes; 20 minutes of downloading resulted in 5 minutes of viewing time. For a company that touts high-speed connection and streaming capabilities, this is absolutely unacceptable. In addition, the speed of download did not increase upon purchase; The "free 20 minutes" is the same as the paid service. I expect that paying customers should receive priority data share and that there should be some benefit to purchasing internet service. Boingo is misleading people into thinking their services can deliver when they cannot. If there are data limits on this service it should be visibly noted and communicated to the consumer so an informed purchase decision can be made.

I bought wifi through Boingo at the airport since I needed to do some work on my laptop, and since I had already bought it, I decided to log in on my phone as well. The wifi worked on both devices, and I received a receipt for the purchase later that day. Two days later, I received an additional receipt for the purchase, which prompted me to call for an explanation. Apparently, the wifi charges are per device, and you are charged again simply for logging in. There's no "would you like to pay $X for wifi on this additional device" question - you are charged just for logging in. In fairness to Boingo, they did offer to do a one time refund of the second charge, but the payment authorization structure definitely needs some changes.
