Boise Clean Air

An appointment was made Boise Dryer Vent and Duct Cleaning to came out and clean my dryer vents and ducts. I informed them I had a Groupon. Ken R said he was the owner of the business. He was late arrive beyond the appointment window. He immediately took a camera to look at my vents. He found a moldy masking tape in one vent. He told me I need to have my vent scrubbed and sanitized. We have asthma and breathing issues so this was scary. He wrote up a big bill and I said I could not pay it. He agreed to a lower price because of the health of my son and me. I wrote him a check. I thought he was going to do the work right then and there but he left and said he would come back in an hour and a half. I went to dispose of the moldy masking tape but he took it with him. He took the covers off my HVAC so it was not working. He never showed up. I told him I needed my HVAC as it was 30 degrees out at night and I needed my heat, I get asthma if I am cold. He never come back, out. I finally asked if my son could put the covers on and he said yes. My son did the best he could to put the covers back on and the HVAC came back on. Ken said he would come back on Saturday. I told him early in the day I had to leave at 5 pm. He was finally ready to come back at 4:30 pm. It didn't work for me. He agreed to come back on Monday. Saturday night our HVAC blew the cover. I had to have an HVAC tech come out to look at it. Ken agreed on Monday, he would refund me back the money he took. It is over 18 days later and I do not have a refund yet.

I recently contacted the abovementioned company, from an advertisement mailer. It advertised $8./00 per vent cleaning. The "technician" performed the services, with my expectations about $200.00 or so, he completed the work and presented me with an over $900.00 bill, saying he did all of this other work, that I never authorized. After I told him that I did not agree to the additional work, he proceeded to cry, literally, saying his boss would fire him if I don't pay. The work was inferior, he lft a mess there. I have tried to contact the company directly and they will not return my calls. I feel that they are deceptively advertising and sending "technicians" out who don't know what they are doing and making them do the dirty work. I have been in business for over 30 years and I would never do a deception like this. This is nothing short of fraud. This company should be reviewed for their unfair advertising practices and also taking advantage of people, I am certain that people don't complain, believe that they are getting a service that they truly are not.

When using the service the technicians refused to provide any type of bid even after being asked three times. I was told they had to do an "Inspection" first. Took over an hour and all grates removed and house covered in dust. Only then was I given an estimate for $543 or $900 or $1800.00!! Since most of the "Basic" work was done and the house was a mess I felt I had to agree to the cheapest amount. Within one hour from then they were out the door and I felt completely ROBBED. Almost $300 an hour to run a vacuum and electric drill. I contacted their office and spoke with whom identified herself as the Customer Care rep "Cheryl" and after hearing my story basically said that is their sales model and she will pass on my complaint!
Looking up reviews on line I now see several complaints that mirror this exactly.
I informed Cheryl I would be filing this complaint and she could care less.
