This lady decided after one discussion with me to reject my offer and trash my business on social media and through the Revdex.com. We respect the Revdex.com and work very hard to make sure our customers are well taken care of. In the automotive repair industry, it is our policy that no work on a car can begin on non-insurance paid repairs until the owner comes in and goes over our estimate and gives approval. At this time down payments for any needed parts are made and all parties are on the same page Most people stop by within a week to check on their vehicles and go over estimate options. This is standard for every Automotive repair shop. As I said previously, I apologized more than once during the only conversation I had with Mis* ***, at that time I was willing to offer her a $savings on storage fees. She still has not picked up her vehicle or came to the shop. Unfortunately, everyday that goes by increases the amount of storage fees owed. I wish she would have came into our business one time to checkup on her car. Maaco wishes her good luck in the future and disputes her side of the story. She has taken no ownership in this unfortunate situation

Mr *** was given an estimate for repair Chevrolet AveoI have since found out that this car was TOTALLED two times by an
insurance company and car was purchased back by Mr ***He explained to our estimatator that he wanted to be as economical as possible as he knows it cant be perfectUpon tear down of the front end, the radiator support was in need of replacement and the frame was bentThese problems account for 100% of the mounting base of the headlights, bumper, etc...We called in Mr Ahdle to show him our findingsWe simulated a line showing how bent his frame and radiator support where and the gaps that would be visibleAgain, that is the base line for mounting and squaring up the Entire Front EndHe stated he had no more funds to fix this further damage and asked us to get it as close as possibleThis is what we did
OFFER:
Unfortunately, we do not do Frame straightening, but I gave him a contact number for another shop and called the shop to explain the situation
We offered Mr *** that "if the frame and radiator support were fixed" we would replace the front bumper and re-install it for himAs for a paint peeling, I am unaware of this problemAt Maaco we stand behind all paint defects that we can if brought to our attention
A side note is:
He did not replace the right headlight that is still on the car, so this would need to be purchased by the customer
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/08/25) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
His reply is not only not acceptable but it is also not true, this is now a different explaination than the first time we spoke on the phoneI did not give them authorization to modify my car, modify new parts to fit and remove original hardwareI did not receive what I paid forWhether or not the car has been totalled before is irrelevent, it had been and was maintained within factory specifications prior to the most recent accidentI kept the car because they assured me it could be repaired
Their work is not consistent with the price I paid, I had to take it to another shop to get it repaired properlyAfter seeing their work first hand there is no way I would allow them to work on my car againI have documentation and photos to support my case
Final Business Response /* (4030, 10, 2015/08/26) */
To repair this car properly, the Radiator Support and the Frame had to be straightened on a frame rackThis was never quoted by Maaco since we do not have a frame rack
When the car was totalled an estimate from the insurance auditor clearly pointed to frame damageThe value of the radiator support and the frame repair is what caused the repair total to surpass the value of the carMr *** knew this and never once gave us a copy of the insurance estimate that spelled out the insurance adjusters findingsWe were not able to find the hidden damage until we disassembled the front-end of the carThis again is when We STOPPED WORK and asked the customer to come in to visually see the uncovered damage(I have pictures of the twisted metal radiator support before we tried to straighten prior to his being called in.)
When he came in to see frame damage he was told there is no way the car could be properly repaired to factory specs with out fixing radiator support and frame damage
This customer is not telling the truthHe got upset when I asked him why he thought we called him into the shop to show him his cars front end problemAt that time we explained the need for a new radiator support and pull on a frame a machineBut made it clear that"I don't want to put any more money into this car just get it as close as possible
Again, without the above additional repair to the radiator support and the frame this car is not able to be repaired further
OFFER:
We were very upfront with Mr ***We even called him in to see the vehicle and choose which way he wanted us to proceedHe declined further repairs and told us to get it as close as we can without the frame rackThis is what we did
I again offered the new bumper and paint, if the frame and radiator support are repaired first

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint. Thus statement is incorrect. Yes I called and had my vehicle towed. I received the estimate for the bumper. I talked to [redacted] at the front desk whom never told me to come in and approve the estimate. I was willing to get my car fixed. I asked for an estimate on the electrical work that would need to be done.   I was told by [redacted] they would have to do what is called a Tear down of the car to do that. I said that's fine get the estimate and let me know. He said it would take a few days. A few days later I called to check on the vehicle and was told by [redacted] they were almost done would be done by the end of the week. I never once received a call again until I called in April and finally spoke with the manager/owner. Never once was I asked or told to come in a sign any papers. This all could have been avoided if Maaco would have communicated with me. I didn't mind paying the $280 but no one has that type of money laying around when an unexpected fee comes along. We
Thank you.

The car was towed to our facility in early March.  The owner of the car stated on the phone that she did not have insurance and needed an estimate, as she would be paying for the repairs herself.  An estimate was completed on 3/5/2018 in the amount of $2070.70.   She was called, and...

asked to come in to go over estimate and approve.  She would need to put a deposit on the new parts that were needed (since it was not an insurance claim, this is standard procedure).   She then stated that the cars wasn't running and had other issues (mechanical issues).   I am aware that she called 2 times but still to this date she has not come into our shop.  She than called on 4/18/2018 and the phone call was given to me.  This is the only time she spoke to me.  She explained that my Manager had not kept her informed and that the delay is all Maaco's fault.  I apologized for the problems and told her that I would help her by lowering the normal storage fee of $40 per day down to $20 per day.  The car storage fees would have started on 3/12/2018.  At normal storage rate that would equate to 45 days times $40. per day or $1800.00  I again apologized, and at that time I OFFERED AT THAT TIME, to charge her for 14 days at half price of $20.00 day or $280.00.  She told me she excepted that but has never showed up to pick up the car.  After this one conversation she decided that my offer was unfair so she created this Revdex.com Complaint, and Negative Online Reviews.   She still has not been to our facility or contacted us?

We have never spoken to this gentleman nor has he informed us of any problem or questions about our service to his 1994 Chevrolet...

S10. He has not brought the vehicle back in to show us ANYTHING. This vehicle came in totally disassembled in hundreds of pieces. All parts were not supplied, ie., Headlight tensioners, no conncections to tail lights, No Tailgate hardware. Many fasteners such as missing nuts and bolts and clips. We informed the customer when we couldn't find the parts he thought were in the vehicle? We completed every line item on the repair order. I am attaching it as supporting information to a seperate email.
We had told the customer that we do not install the weather stripping, we recommended a glass company as we thought all stripping was not in the Vehicle. He was never charged for weather stripping installation or anything in regards to weather stripping. Please see seperate email outling each item that was on the repair order. The weather stripping we not included in any estmate. Please see details in orginal RO # 5607 that is attached to email.
As for the delay in the repair, this was a very large job that did not have all the pieces. When we take a job we give an estimate time of completion. If delays are encountered, the time period to complete the job will change. All customers are encouraged to come in and see the progress of thier vehicle at any time during the repair process. While we try to complete all jobs in a timely manner, please understand we and all bodyshops give an estimate of time of completion.
OFFER:
Please bring vehicle in to show us any questions you may have about our repair and or the paint service.
