electricity bill paid on 10/23/15. House was rented out on 10/24/15. Electricity was cut off on 10/26/15. My tenant was without electricity for 3 dayOn 10/23/15 I paid my mothers electric bill in full. My receipt shows that the next monthly bill would be $68. At the time bill was paid I alerted the sales agent that mom had passed. She offered her condolences and I made it known that I have a new tenant coming in the next day to rent the house out. I made it clear that I wanted the electricity bill to stay in my mothers name and the new tenant would just pay the bill. I found out that my sister called the BEA and stated that her mother is dead and she wanted the electricity bill cut off. My tenant did not have electricity or hot water for 4 days. My sister called from [redacted] and gave BEA my mothers name and SS#. My tenant came to BEA with apt lease and had to put the electric bill in his name for a small fee of $300. I called and Spoke to [redacted] and I also spoke to [redacted] both gentleman told me that my tenant [redacted] is not due a refund because they acted out of good faith. I explained to both men that you cut off electricity without seeing any proof of ownership. Once I found out this took place I sent [redacted] my birth certificate, moms death certificate and moms last will and testament. I also sent [redacted] a copy of the apt lease for Mr. [redacted] On the lease states Mr. [redacted] on the birth certificate states Mr. [redacted] On the quick claim deed states Mr. [redacted] On moms death certificate states Mr. [redacted] On moms last will and testament states all belongings is given to Mr. [redacted] To this day The Bolivar Energy Authority has not apologized to Mr. [redacted] or Mr. [redacted] for this terrible inconvience. I thought maybe a third party should take a look at this.Desired SettlementI would like a apology to Mr. [redacted] I would like a apology to Mr. [redacted] I would like a refund of $300. I would like this complaint visible on the internet. WE ACTED IN GOOD FAITH WITH THE INFORMATION WE HAD AND FOLLOWED THE INSTRUCTION WE WERE GIVEN. WE WERE INSTRUCTED TO PULL METER AND FINAL THE ACCOUNT ON 10/26/2015. SSN AND FINAL ADDRESS WERE VERFIIED AS PER OUR POLICY. 10/30/2015 MR. [redacted] CAME IN WITH LEASE AND TWO FORMS OF ID AS PER POLICY. METER WAS PUT IN HIS NAME. WE DID NOT GET INFORMATION FROM YOU UNTIL 11/09/2015 AS INDICATED BY YOUR EMAIL DATES. WE DID THIS IN GOOD FAITH AS PER INSTRUCTED. THERE WILL BE NO COMPENSATION TO YOUR TENANT. WE HAD NO OTHER INSTRUCTIONS UNTIL AFTER THE FACT.THIS WAS THE REPLY I SEND TO MR. [redacted] ON 11/16/2016. AS I EXPLAINED TO HIM, WE FOLLOWED PROPER POLICY IN FINAILING THE ACCOUNT AND SETTING IT BACK UP IN HIS TENANTS NAME. MR. [redacted] SISTER CALLED ON 10/26/2015, PRESENT THE PROPER INFO TO GET METER TURNED OFF, MOTHERS SS NO AND FINAL BILL ADDRESS, WE TURNED OFF AS INSTRUCTED. WE DID TURN METER BACK ON 10/30/2015 FOR TENANT AFTER HE PRESENT PROPER PAPERWORK AND PAID ALL FEES. WE DID NOT RECEIVE ANY WRITTEN DOCUMENTATION FROM MR. [redacted] UNTIL 11/9/2015, WHICH WAS TWO WEEKS AFTER HIS SISTER CALLED. WE CANNOT GO BY WORD ONF MONTH, WE MUST HAVE WRITTEN DOCUMENTS. WE ACTED ACCORDING TO OUR POLICY. THERE WILL BE NO COMPENSATION DUE TENANT NOR LANDLORD.

BOLIVAR ENERGY AUTHORITY FAILED TO CHARGE MY MONTHLY BILL TO MY BANK ACCOUNT AS AGREED AND DISCONNECTED THE SERVICE AND MADE ME PAY RECONNECTION FEE. MY PREVIOUS BILL THE DUE DATE WAS OCTOBER 01,2014 SHOULD BE PAID BY BANK DRAFT AND IT WAS CLEARLY STATED ON THE BILL THAT IT WILL BE PAID BY BANK DRAFT. FOR SOME REASON IT WAS NOT PAID AND BOLIVAR ENERGY AUTHORITY JUST DISCONNECTED THE SERVICE AND MADE ME PAY RECONNECTION FEE.Desired SettlementI WANT TO MOVE TO ANOTHER COMPANY WITH THE SAME SERVICE BUT UNFORTUNATELY NONE EXIST IN THE CITY OF BOLIVAR. I'LL SETTLE FOR THE REFUND FOR THE RECONNECTION FEE AND IF POSSIBLE THE CONVENIENCE FEE THAT I HAVE TO PAY IN THEIR MACHINE.Business Response Mr. [redacted] had transferred his service to another location. He did not inform us he wanted to continue his bank draft thru his bank to pay the bill. Our policy is not to transfer bank draft to another account unless customer advises us to. It is their responsibility to let us know to transfer bank draft information to new account. Too many times we have taken care of this for a customer and they did not want it done or they had change bank accounts. He receive a bill stating he owed his bill and it was not indicated on bill that it was on bank draft. All accounts with a bank draft state: MEMO DO NOT PAY.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)The bill with meter reading date Sept. 11, 2014 said will be paid by bankdraft.Final Business Response the bill he is referring to was paid by bank draft. it was when he moved to a new location and did not info was he wanted to transfer bank draft that the draft was not set up.
