We had our furnace and central air installed in 2010 due to a cracked heat exchanger. After the install we had them fix a couple things that were overlooked. No big deal. Two years later we had the exhaust motor replaced under warranty but we were chaged for a service call, labor, paperwork, and return shipping on the warrantied part. I believe it was around $175. Six years later the furnace is blowing cold air. We called a different heating and air company. There was a part corroded that needed to be cleaned. Our new heating guy told us the furnace bomar had installed was too big for our home. They installed a 70,000 btu when we only needed a 40,000 btu. He changed a setting to help but he also said we are going to have problems with that furnace in the future. I will never recommend bomar to anyone. My furnace is still under warranty but I would rather pay someone else to fix it if I'm going to be charged for it anyway.
We had [redacted] coverage for our Cent AC and Furnace contract, Bomar came out to clean our furnace. Upon completion we were told our furnace needed to be replaced due to a cracked heat exchanger, he had a camera and showed the crack which looked like a rust spot, he quoted us $2772 for a new furnace that he said would be smaller as our current one is too big for our size house. I know if your furnace has a cracked they will turn off the gas and shut it down and red tag it, he did not do it! I contacted the company who put my furnace in 1993 to request a 2nd opinion. I do not have a cracked exchange, it is fine. I have canc my contract and will never trust Bomar EVER !!!
