Bombay Jewelry & Fashion Reviews (1)

Review: I went to the store to purchase a genuine yellow sapphire stone. I was shown two stones-one genuine yellow sapphire (higher cost) and one stone called topaz (lower cost) according to the owner. I repeatedly asked about the authenticity of the stone and I was promised that it was genuine and he would not cheat. He said, "If I had to cheat you I wouldn't show you the lower cost stone (topaz)." I also asked for the gem certificate and his response was that the gems come from India and his suppliers do not provide a certificate. I trusted his words as I had done business with him before and because of his pretense words during the visit to the store. There was an astrological purpose behind the purchase of the stone. I waited few months to see any changes. Since I did not see any changes, that prompted my research online regarding the cost of genuine yellow sapphires. I come to find out that the genuine yellow sapphires at 15 carat cost more then $10,000 and I paid $2,200 for the stone and it's placement in a gold pendant. I had the stone checked by a gemologist at [redacted] jewelers in [redacted], VA. I was told that this is Citrine and not Yellow Sapphire. I contacted the owner and his wife for an exchange or refund. They totally refuse to give a refund and say that their supplier told them it was Yellow Sapphire and the information was passed on. The owner spoke to his supplier and said it was past 60 days and they couldn't do anything. I stated that my business was with you and not your supplier but he is not willing to do anything about it. This is fraud. I would never conduct business with him. I put my faith and trust in his words but he lied about the authenticity of the stone. He totally knew what he was doing because when I confronted him, he put his supplier in between. If he did not know that his supplier cheated him, he would have done something to keep his customer happy. I sold my gold jewelry, paid some cash, and some by credit for a purpose. This business is immoral.Desired Settlement: I would like my refund for the amount of money I paid to him. I cannot trust them anymore. Full payment was made by the sale of gold jewelry, diamond ring, cash, and credit. $200 in cash, $420 in credit card, $1600 in jewelry sold.
