I apologize for the delay in responding to your complaint.  I have reached out to our Emergency Room Departement and the Director researched your visit.  We recognize that you did have an extended wait to get seen and for that we apologize.  From the documentation...

in the Medical Record the services provided to you were consistent with your presenting complaint.  The physician ruled out an acute emergent condition and discharged you for follow up with your physician.  If you were struck by a wheel chair no report was made at the time nor was any contact made to us until this complaint.
Further we cannot waive a patients co-pay, deductible or co-insurance, that is a breach of contract that we have with the insurance company.  I apologize that I could not be of more assistance to you.

I am sorry this customer feels this way.  We have audited the medical record against the charges on the account and determined that it was appropriate.  This patient can ask their insurance carrier to request an audit also to determine if they feel there are any inappropriate charges on the account.  As far as quoting patient out of pocket, those are estimates only and that should have been relayed to this patient when provided.  Patient out of pocket constantly changes based on the insurance carrier, and the information provided is only an estimate and based on information provided by the insurance company.  If the insurance company's information is not completely up to date, then the out of pocket costs could be off.  I am sorry that this patient feels this way, but St. Francis has done all that we can do.
