My Dr Scheduled me for a follow depression wellness check. After the appointment I received a bill that was coded incorrectly. It resulted in the insurance company not paying 100% coverage that is part of my insurance inclusions. I contacted my insurance company and they told me they could not correct it unless my physicians filed for the correction. I contacted my doctors office, Family Practice of ***, who told me they could not change it because it had already been processed. I was instructed to call the Bonsecure Medical Group and talk with the billing department. I contacted Bonsecure and they told me they could not change it until the Family Practice of *** corrected their coding. I contacted my physician, Dr Gregg ***, he made a change to my chart that reflected the correct coding. I was informed of the change and that it should take care of itself. The next month I received another bill. I called the Bonsecure billing department. They told me they could not change the bill until they receive paperwork from The Family Practice of *** to make the adjustment. I contacted their practice manager, Kimberely *** (XXX-XXX-XXXX), several times over the proceeding months to have the adjustment made. She assured me she would get in contact with Bonsecure and figure out how to make the correction. I stopped receiving bills and the bill was no longer on my "MyChart" online tracking. I concluded that the companies finally corrected the invoicing. Then I received a collection statement from *** Revenue Group. I told *** the whole situation and they said they would look into it. I have now received a completion of "investigation" and they are saying they are filing against my credit if I don't pay. The investigation simply took the original incorrect coding bill, sent me a copy and said I owe it.

Bonsecure has a failing method and communications between their subsidies for making correction to insurance claims. They need to make the correction and remove the bill.

Desired Outcome

Billing Adjustment Bonsecure needs to file the appointment with the correct coding. It was a depression wellness check up which is covered 100% by my insurance or simply stop the collection and remove the bill from my account.
