Review: they were supposed to repair the front end of my husbands harley and did not do the work. another mechanic said this is NOT our front end
had accident damage worked on they were supposed to repair the front end of the bike .. they said they couldnt do it. We were told by livermore harley that someone had taken the front end apart and refused to work on it (after I had spoke to [redacted]) and had to pick it up. Had another mobil mechanic come down and took it to the Front End Guy and he said it is not the right front end to this bike. [redacted] are the only ones who had worked on it at this point. We think they stole ours and replaced it with anotherDesired Settlement: replace our front end or get a new one that fits this bike! or replace the bike

The only work done on the front end was to perform a fall away test replace front tire and front brakepads. No parts were removed and no parts were swapped or taken. The customer was unhappy with all work done to this bike.We spent an entire day with the customer present trying to address his complaints.

supporting docs attached
I do not agree with their response. When I dropped off the bike for repair I told
them I wanted 3 work orders
1.For all wreck damage including the front end
2.Some motor work I decided to have done
3.To have brakes and tires put on
I also told them I wanted all the old parts back. I had a list of parts from the
insurance adjuster except for the front end which [redacted] told me he would take
care of. [redacted] (their mechanic) told me it would be cheaper for me to pick up
the parts so I did. We talked about the front end and [redacted] assured me that he
could fix it. That he had worked for Merced Harley and it would be no problem.
While the bike was down I decided to have a special custom paint job done on it. I
told this to [redacted] and [redacted] because it would take a month to get it back from
Harley. I had to pay $200 for special boxes for shipping and I told [redacted] and [redacted]
I had to have these boxes back to return parts. They threw them out. During the
month we were waiting we expected [redacted] to be working on the front end,
brakes, tires, etc. yet he wasn't My wife went in and took photos of the bike while
it was there and no work was being done on it. [redacted] response was "I'm waiting
for all the parts so I can slap it together" I was unnerved by this response.
Everything finally arrived and [redacted] did "slap" it together. When we went to
pick it up they had only installed the parts we took in and done some of the motor
work. They said it was ready and safe. I asked about the front end and only then
did they start talking about only doing a fall away test. I asked [redacted] if he had
greased it before doing so and he told me his grease gun was broken. So even if
he had done the test it would be incorrect. I had gone in on time prior to check
on the work and I noticed my indicator lights were dangling on my chrome center
council. I asked [redacted] to ask [redacted] to be more careful. This was on a Friday and
on that Monday [redacted] called and safe the indicator had broken in the accident
and I needed a new one. It wasn't broken when I was in of Friday. When my wife
and I went to pick it up I started looking at it and noticing things that weren't
right. I noticed that the bolts weren't attached on the front end and [redacted]
quickly fixed it and I left. I went for a short ride that night and to my horror barely
made it home. More bolts had fallen out of the shock and it was not attached to
the front end and about to fall off. I also had no Lights. When I finally made it
home I started going over the whole bike and found all types of safety issues. As
well as the front end not being done the brakes were not bolted down, brackets
were missing that hold the wires in place, the engine leaked, special scorn nuts
were missing and replaced with cheap ones, the lights did not work, the fuel
gauge did not work, my new kick stand was not installed or returned. [redacted] states
he spent a full day trying to make it right but in fact I was there 4 or more times
and they still did not make it safe. I then took the bike to [redacted] Harley to.
get the front end fixed and have them go over everything else [redacted] had done
They got tired of waiting on the insurance check so I picked the bike up. I had
gone to [redacted]/Speedy [redacted] and had spoken to the manager about all the
problems I had. He told me to bring it by and let him look at it. I arraigned to do
so on a Saturday before I took it to Livermore Harley to have the work finished.
When I arrived at [redacted] neither the manager or [redacted] was there. After about
20 minutes [redacted] finally showed up and wanted to know what I wanted done. I
told him he was just supposed to look at it before I took it to Livermore. Again he
started complaining about not making any money and wasting his time and I
would never by happy no matter what. I dropped the bike off in Livermore for
the work and on that Monday they called my wife and told her to pick up the bike
get it out of there shop because someone had already worked on the front end.
They told her to take it back to the person who had worked on it ([redacted]). He had
been the only one who had done any work on this bike at this time. I was not
about to let [redacted] work on it again I did not trust him! After I picked up the bike
in Livermore there quality control people called to see how happy I was with the
work. They got an earful after I was told to get my bike out of there. I found a
certified mobile mechanic and he came down to see if he could repair it. He took
the front end in to check and came back and told me this is not the right front end
for my motorcycle. The part that holds the front end on is 2 inches too short and
the nut (which is the wrong one) was only holding it on by 2 threads. Again [redacted]
was the only one who had done any work on it at this point. Our last mechanic
said [redacted] did not finish the motor work either. He had only plugged it in and
did not tune it to the bike. This caused my new exhaust pipes to turn blue. Every
time I approached [redacted] to get these problems resolved all he did is start
screaming about not how he wasn't making any money and wasn't going to do
any more insurance work and I would never be happy. Most of the work was
covered by insurance the rest we paid for in cash. He could have charged me
whatever he wanted.
