Review: Over the course of the past week I have been working with a real estate agent named [redacted] ran an application for [redacted] and [redacted] (myself) for an apartment at [redacted] located near Columbus Circle. This involved giving him personal information including but not limited to social security numbers, bank account numbers, pay stubs, documents stating address, phone number etc. for [redacted], and [redacted]. Our application was approved and we were informed about this approval at 3:47 PM on Wednesday June [redacted]. We had scheduled a meeting for a lease signing for 6 PM on Thursday June [redacted] for 6 PM. [redacted] and [redacted] had been informed that the apartment was ours. At 5:37 PM on Thursday June [redacted], 23 minutes prior to our scheduled appointment, [redacted] informed me through email that the apartment was no longer ours and he and the owner of the property went with another application. Due to travel [redacted] did not receive this email until he was at the building. [redacted] did not show up for the scheduled meeting, even though he did not give due notice for the cancelation. At the moment in time [redacted] had led [redacted] and [redacted], as well as [redacted] and [redacted], who were guarantors on the apartment, to believe that he had stopped showing the apartment (he had stated it was taken off of the market) and there were no other applications at the time. All items described above are well documented in writing, via email. [redacted] has clearly shown his lack ethics and good business practice. This whole experience does not show a good business practices for Bond Realty. All parties involved made sure to give [redacted] the necessary paper work in a quick fashion, while putting aside other responsibilities such as work. All parties involved also feel very uncomfortable with the fact that [redacted] has [redacted], and [redacted]'s information (Social Security Numbers, Bank Numbers, Credit History, Job Statements etc.) All parties involved do not trust the notion that [redacted] has all of this information on his email, computer, and printed out after he has demonstrated a streak of unethical practices.Desired Settlement: The desired outcome is a letter from Bond Realty stating the proper disposal was taken for all of the personal information given to [redacted], and an understanding that any incident of identity theft (or similar) related to these unethical business practices will be the legal responsibility of Bond Realty.
