Review: The Orange Nike Men's Adult size jacket that I brought to Bonded Cleaners in Modesto was returned to me with tears/rips and it shrunk to toddler size.I picked up my dry cleaning from Bonded Cleaners in Modesto (2101 Standiford Ave, Ste C Modesto, CA 95350 PH:(209) 579-0870)in early January 2014. All of my clothes were returned cleaned and fine, EXCEPT my boyfriend's Men's adult size Orange Outerwear Nike Jacket. The Nike jacket shrank to the size of a toddler and had rips/tears intermittently throughout the jacket. I complained to staff and they had me write down my complaint on a sheet of paper (their normal procedure for such events). I was told to leave my phone number and the owner would contact me within one month. Now,a little after a month later on February 10, 2014 I came by Bonded Cleaners to follow up on this matter and spoke with an employee named [redacted]. [redacted] spent a while on the phone speaking to the owner and he told me that he was instructed to tell me to 'come back in an hour, the owner will be here.' I return to the Bonded Cleaners a little over an hour later and spoke with [redacted] again. He contacts the owner and speaks with her on the phone. He then tells me that 'she says the only thing they can do is give you $40 since that jacket is 5 years old.' I then proceed to ask him to ask the owner on the phone (he is still on the phone with her) how the jacket could have shrunk to such a small size. He speaks to the owner on the phone for a while and then tells me that he was told to tell me that he doesn't know why it shrank. I explained to him that I have taken that exact jacket elsewhere to other dry cleaning places and it came back fine. He then told me that the owner wanted to 'follow up' with the other places that I have taken this jacket to prior to Bonded Cleaners, because the owner believes that 'it may have been dry cleaned wrong before and went it was cleaned here the material inside the jacket was already ruined which made the jacket shrink.' [redacted] then explains to me that '[redacted]' will contact me within ONE WEEK. It's disappointing that a business would handle themselves in this manner. If you promised a client/customer the $40 to compensate for the damage to the jacket (even though I believe $40 isn't enough, but that's not the issue anymore it's the principle at this point....of how a business should run professionally and treat their customers fairly!), then you should follow through. I am COMPLETELY APPALLED by that kind of unprofessionalism and response. After asking several times what the owner's name and number is, [redacted] finally tells me that the owner or manager whom he was talking with 'who has contact with the owner' is [redacted] (she was the one he was talking with on the phone while I stood there waiting the whole time). First off, although I was upset that the jacket shrank to an incredibly small size (Men's adult size to toddler size) and was not pleased by the 'manager or owner's' response that I would get only $40 compensation for the jacket....I understand that mistakes happen. But, when '[redacted]' was giving all these erroneous reasons as to why it could have been damaged and then states that she was going to 'follow up with the other dry cleaners where I took the jacket prior to Bonded Cleaners' when she had ALREADY STATED AND PROMISED that they 'could only give $40' for the jacket is very unprofessional. To top it off, I never got a return phone call after 5-6 weeks of filing my written complaint at the dry cleaners initially for the damage done on the jacket, when I was promised I would get a phone call within ONE MONTH. I'm truly disappointed by this business and would like the Revdex.com to follow up on this issue and notify future customers of this, as there may be other customers dealing with the same issue.Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Other (requires explanation)

The settlement I am seeking is the said 'promised $40' for the damaged jacket. Again, although I don't believe that $40 is enough, if that's what this business promised then they should follow through with that and not have me wait another week, weeks or months to get the compensation. In the end, it's the principle, and a business should handle themselves professionally and not in this manner.

Response:

The Damage was not done by Bonded Cleaners but by the laundry Service Quality Cleaners. I did arrange for the Customer to be paid the 40.00 that she requested and she apologized to me for contacting Revdex.com with the improper information she also said she contacted the Revdex.com to retract her complaint .

Customer also posted on other sites and did correct her statement with the correct information.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. However, when I spoke with [redacted] the manager of Bonded Cleaners, she informed me that they contract their laundry to Quality Cleaners In Tracy, CA. I did post a review regarding my experience with Bonded Cleaners in Modesto on the Yelp website which has updated information on that site. [redacted] did arrange for me to get my $40 from Quality Cleaners and they apologized for the damage done to the jacket.

Sincerely,

Review: I brought my comforter to be dry cleaned here. I picked it up and took it home and opened it from the plastic cover they put on it and it smelled of a toxic chemical. I took it back and they said that their machine that they used to clean it was broken and that they have been getting the same complaints and that they will take it back for another dry clean. I got a call a couple days later and picked it up to only find that the smell persisted. I took it back again and they said that they would try laundering it to see if that helped. They laundered and call me to pick it up and once again it still smelled of horrible chemical. A strong smell that made me nauseous. I once again took it back and said that they destroyed my comforter and I would like them to reimburse me for the comforter and the money they had me pay to have it dry cleaned. They refused.Desired Settlement: I would like $120 for reimbursement for my comforter and the cost of dry cleaning

Response:

I spoke to Mr [redacted] regarding his comforter and told him that I smelled it and had a additional 10 people smell it and none of us could detect any kind of odor at all on the comforter, I explaned to Mr [redacted] that we do not use any chemicals in our plant and that it is a solution and is green accourding to county regulations.which would wash out if there was a smell , Mr [redacted] came back in 3 times and we could not find anything wrong but to try to make the customer happy we Dry cleaned it 3 times and he still was not happy so we sent it out to a Laundry Service to have it washed, they also could not find a smell of any kind on it either but did launder the Comforter anyways all which has been done at no further charge to the customer.

When speaking to mr [redacted] this afternoon 3/16/2016 I offered to meet with him at the cleaners and we could go over it together incase he was smelling a part that I wasnt but he said no he didn't want to do that because he said I would just say I didn't smell anything, I told the customer that we are very honest there and if I did smell a odor I would tell him so but he refused to meet me there again I told him I am more then willing to dry clean it again for him but he refuses to do that and wants money.

Response:

I am rejecting this response because: If Bonded cleaners have supposedly already dry cleaned it three times and have laundered it once and the smell is still there, then what makes you think dry cleaning it again would help any? The business does not want to take responsibility that they have destroyed my comforter. Also one of their employees had admitted to me that they were using a broken faulty machine and that was the reason for the smell. The employee notified me that I was not the only one to return an item for the same reason. I will go to the county to also file a complaint of the business using hazardous waste materials. I would also like to speak with the owner to notify him of his managers business practices.

Review: May 10 I dropped off comforter paid to have it cleaned. I went to get it and the cleaners stated taht it had been there longer than 90 days so they donated it. I was in the hospital with double cancer. They never notified me that they were going to donate it.

I am a regular customerDesired Settlement: I paid in advance to have it cleaned. I paid $20. to have it cleaned and $160 for comforter. I would like $90 back.

Business

Response:

when we spoke to Mrs [redacted] It was explained to her that it is printed on the invoice that we are not repsonsible for articles left over 90 days and it had been 7 months.

Review: On August 7th 2015, I dropped a shirt off for dry cleaning. On the required pickup date, they could not find the shirt. They told me to come back later in the week and check on it. After 2 weeks they had me sign a form giving them 30 days to find it or they would call me with the results. Its been 7 weeks into the process and no response. For the record, I was a weekly customer for for six years. I think as a so called valued customer they could at least do their job and be professional!Desired Settlement: Payment for my lost/damaged or stolen property!
