Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:
It is not a matter of me "not wanting" to pay the taxIt's a matter of Bonner not upholding an agreementVery simply put, they assured me in writing that there would not be additional fees, and then there wereTheir proposed "resolution" is unacceptable because it still entails me paying the fees that they assured me would not be applicableIt's unrealistic for anyone to believe their lie that they had no knowledge of the vehicle being a lease as opposed to a purchaseIt is standard practice for every dealership to research a vehicle before taking it in on tradeI also made sure to tell them that it was a leased vehicleThey were well aware of thisWhat car dealership would make an offer on a trade in, and take it in for said offer without knowing who it belonged to? It's an utterly ridiculous claim that they did not knowThey are just trying to find some excuse, regardless of how thin, to avoid owning up to unethical business practicesThey lied, and this resulted in me paying for a tax I should not have had to pay forThe only way that this get resolved to my satisfaction is for them to reimburse me that feeAnything outside of that is just allowing them to get away with deception and outright thievery.
Regards,

Taxes or anything like that? Do I have to get it inspected here in vermont? Or is your state inspection sufficient here?I've never purchased a vehicle outside of vermont so any help would be greatly appreciatedI don't want to screw this upThanks

To whom it may concern,
I am responding to a notice that we had received concerning Mr. [redacted]. Mr. [redacted] purchased a 2012 [redacted] on 02/07/2015 and had traded a 2014 [redacted] ram on this vehicle. Mr. [redacted] had stated he had a "pay off" (not a buy out on a lease) through chrysler...

financial with all information needed for our dealership to pay off his balance. The purchase price of the [redacted] $28,000 and trade money given for the [redacted] was $30,000.1) With this being an out of state deal, no tax would paid to our facility and state.
2) if a customer is the owner of a vehicle than they can trade the vehicle and get a tax credit. They would pay sales tax on the difference between the sales price and the trade value, instead of paying sales tax on the price of the new vehicle.
3) When a customer's vehicle is a lease, they can't trade the vehicle because the leasing company owns it. The dealer has to buy the vehicle from the leasing company. Since they cannot trade it, they have to pay tax on the sale price of the new vehicle.
With trade equity being $2,000, there would no taxes needed as well. This was gone over multiple times through email (which Mr. [redacted] and myself have) and in at our facility at the time of pick up and still we were never informed of a lease buy out. It was not until our clerk had called chrysler financial to pay off the loan did we learn there was no loan but a buy out through them. Mr. [redacted] had called by phone on Monday 02/09/2015 stating he was at a notary and needed to pay tax to his state of Vermont, At which point our sales manager told him this is no problem we could fix his paperwork and put the tax in and mail him a check that day, Mr. [redacted] declined to do this because he did not want his payment to go up. This was a very easy fix and the proper fix for both sides for a very unfortunate misunderstanding in which was denied by Mr. [redacted].

Review: Bonner over charged for a [redacted] Warranty policy.

I sold the car back to Bonner and cancelled the policy.

[redacted] told me I would receive 81% of the purchase price of the policy, minus a $50.00 cancellation fee.

$1495.00 - 50.00 =$1445.00 x 81% = $1170.45 I expected to get back.

I received a check for $749.47 which is a $420.98 difference .

I called [redacted] again and was told that that they sent Bonner a check for the amount they sent for the policy.

Also, [redacted] feels I was grossly overcharged for the policy.

I caller Bonner at least 8 times and was not able to get anyone to discuss the problem and never got a return call.Desired Settlement: A refund of $420.98 difference and have Bonner stop over charging for the policies.

Review: The dealership Bonner Chevrolet in [redacted], PA had gotten a new truck for us and put 183 miles on it before we even purchased the truck and did advise them we were not very happy about that! It took two times of us driving down to the dealership, (which we are 40 minutes away-one way!) for us to purchase it due to the fact that they never called us to tell us our paperwork was NOT done for the first time we drove down there. The salesman left us sitting over 30 minutes before we asked if there was a problem and he told us the paper work was not done. Never an apology, nothing. They were to contact us the next day to make sure the paperwork was done, and they never did. We contacted them and had to go back again on a Monday night. After finally purchasing the truck the salesman took us out to the truck to put the tag on it, and as we opened the door to the truck there was a "huge" cobweb INSIDE the vehicle that went from the drivers side all the way over the passenger side with the spider right in the middle of the web! We exclaimed to the salesman "how can you sell a truck like this with a cobweb "inside" the vehicle? The salesman: [redacted] put his hand in the cab of the truck and pulled it down as the spider fell inside the cab and basically stated, "it's a truck, it was in a dirty garage that I am sure has plenty of spiders and other crawling things". We stated that this is "disgustingly filthy" and cannot believe it was not cleaned better! As we continued to discuss this matter with him, he pushed the OnStar button so the representative started talking to us, and he just said, "stop by for a tank of gas and wax after winter" and started to walk away! (He was also advised that we have never had OnStar before and he was supposed to have shown us how it works, which he did not!) The next day I called Bonner's and spoke to the General Manager-[redacted], and advised how "filthy dirty" the truck was, and he laughed and said, "Oh I don't think you could say it was disgustingly filthy, maybe somewhat dirty, but it is a truck!" I said that to any woman getting into a "new vehicle" with a cobweb across the entire inside of the truck would absolutely find it disgusting, and again he laughed at me, and finally said, "So what do you want me to do about it, do you want to bring it up and we'll clean it again?" and I said Yes! Another trip to the dealership, I pointed out specifics on the truck which another saleman [redacted] wrote down that the front window had to be cleaned of the web, the debris from the bed liner being installed was all over , there was white wax residue on the inside of the front passenger door, along with white wax residue all over the black trim of the truck, and to make sure those were cleaned! We dropped the truck back off to them on a Thursday and they said to pick it up Saturday. Saturday my kids and I went to the dealership and was advised "the truck is all clean, the guys spent about 4 hours on it this morning", I checked the truck and walked back into the showroom and stated "nothing was done to the truck and everything she told them about it was still there!" The General Manager laughed, the salesman laughed, and left my kids and I standing there dumbfounded not knowing what to do. The General Manager proceeded back into the garage, which my kids and I followed, pick up a "water bottle and rag" and opened the door of the truck with the residue, sprayed it and wiped it and said, "there, taken care of it, what else....." As I proceeded to advise him of the other items he continued to laugh at me and kept stating "it's a truck!" After I felt completely belittled and felt he was being very sexist to me, I became upset (again, all of this taking place in front of our children) and asked for the truck to be pulled out so I could just leave. The kids and I stayed in the garage while he pulled the truck out and he left us standing there alone in the garage. They walked outside after a minute or two and the truck was just parked out there and [redacted] was no where to be found! As they started to get into the truck the salesman ** and another gentleman went outside and the other gentleman started laughing and waving and saying srcastically "have a nice day!" I then asked for his name, which he would not give. After being asked repeatedly, then finally the salesman advised his name was [redacted]. I felt completely discriminated against and felt to be made a fool of! After getting the truck home after this incident, we then found several severe scratches on the truck that are so deep the paint is off! Again, another call to Bonner Chevrolet and we were told, "we don't know how they got there, but what do you expect us to do.". After all of this, we finally decided to call General Motors Headquarters and spoke to a representative named [redacted]. We advised him of everything that went on and told him that first day, we did not want the truck anymore! He stated he completely understood and said he would discuss the matter with Bonner and see what type of resolution we could come to. Several calls to [redacted], and weeks later, he finally told us that Bonner would take the truck back but I had to call them myself at this point. I called Bonner's and spoke to [redacted] who said it is "their courtesy to take the truck back-however we would be responsible for depreciation." We then called [redacted] at GM Headquarters and told him of the situation and that we just want back our truck that we traded along with the money we put down. He advised us as long as we keep the mileage under 1000 miles there would be no problems. We called Bonner and told [redacted] of what [redacted] said, which he was very aggravated about and then advised us the money issue is between Bonner and us, No Headquarters, but our truck would not be out of the body shop for approximately a week. During that week called [redacted] and asked him how long for us to get our truck and he said another week, then I asked for figures for us to get our truck back. First, Bonner had us pull our truck out of a garage that was fixing a bumper on it because they saw the bumper and [redacted] said he could fix it for $600.00. While I had an insurance check for $1998.12 for the damages to be fixed. He advised he would just put the rest of the insurance check for down payment. He then advised that our payoff was $10931.91, we owed the body shop bill of $2500.00, and with the $4500.00 we put down we owe $8931.91.I reminded [redacted] that the estimate first of all to fix our truck was an Insurance check for $1998.12 and if they went over that I am not responsible. Basically I told him that simple math was $10,931.91 minus the $4,500 cash without the insurance check would be $6,431.91. [redacted] from Bonner's stated that we owed $8,931.91 and that's the final decision, no negotiating! I called [redacted] at the Headquarters and told him of the situation and he said he would escalate it to a manager. He called me the next day and advised me that he ([redacted]) was told he is No Longer assigned to this case since it is now a monetary issue and that he "Cannot" tell me anything about the supervisor handling the case now, but they would be in touch with us within 24 hours. We have NEVER ( two weeks later) heard from anyone from GM Headquarters and it is now going on three weeks! We called [redacted] at Bonner's back and told him that the figures were wrong and that he advised he could fix our truck for $600.00, and he stated "That was when I knew you were buying a truck from me, and now we fixed it the right way!". I asked when our truck would be ready from the garage and he stated another week. We advised it is almost impossible for us to keep the mileage on the new truck under 1000 miles when you keep pushing us off on our truck and he stated, That's not my problem, that's yours!" We advised even if the body shop bill was a wash, our payoff was $10931.91, we put $4500.00 down, and right there we should only owe the bank $6431.91. [redacted] then stated "This is the deal, there is no more negotiating this is it, take it or leave it: $10931.91 for the payoff of our old truck, the $4500.00 down and $1500.00 body shop bill, we owe $7931.91." We advised we had to review that because it was still not right, and he hung up on me! All we want is our truck back with the figures correct!! They pushed us off with getting our truck done in the garage for three weeks, along with the new truck given to us with almost 200 miles on it and then with the number of trips to the dealership the truck has now over 1000 miles. Not by our fault!! This kind of treatment should never be given to anyone, and especially not when you are purchasing a $42,000 brand new truck!Desired Settlement: We want the dealership to purchase their truck back, we want our original truck back and us to owe no more than I owed minus the money down when they treated us so ignorantly!
