Bonoco Construction

I found George on a *** (he has since been removed from the site due to my complaints against him). My experience with him began when he was an hour late for our appointment to obtain an estimate. He told me how busy he was at another job site and when he arrived he was very charismatic and approachable. So, being a kind person, I forgave him and proceeded to work with him. We then went back and forth on the contract and price, he was reasonable making adjustments until I was happy. When he arrived to our home one night to have the contract signed, he was dressed professionally and smelling nice, I thought he was a real class act and was excited to work with him. However that's when the nightmare soon began. Construction on our retaining wall started and was continued in the middle of a rainy week, I may not know much about construction but I'm pretty sure you shouldn't be working with cement in the rain! He was never physically on the job site during work when he promised he would be and his workers were unprofessional. They frequently took cigarette breaks littering the street and they cut word and materials on my back deck leaving wood shavings all over the backyard and they even damaged areas of my deck. The stone we also agreed on changed at the last minute, he told me he secured better looking stones and that this was a bargain for me. However I suspect given that the stones arrived in a half empty crate that these were left over from a previous job and the only one who actually profited from this was him. I asked for a receipt of the stones and he produced some kind of document that wasn't even clear what he purchased. At the completion of the job I was extremely dissatisfied. Nothing was level or even, there were holes and cement staining everywhere including the sidewalk, my driveway and on my *** deck (he told me I could easily remove this with a spray I could purchase myself at ***, he was clearly ready to wash his hands of me). I cannot begin to explain how embarrassed I am, this was supposed to increase curb appeal of my house but instead I'm left with an even uglier presentation. George continued to make all kinds of excuses and then began pointing the finger at us blaming us for not doing things that we supposedly said we would to make his job easier.. ? He pressured us for the second half of the money telling me I was ruining his kid's vacation because that money was going towards their trip. He took before and after pictures of my front lawn and posted them to his social media accounts, he took credit for the landscaping we did and only included areas that looked nice when wet so that the holes and cement staining weren't visible. I was preparing to bring this man to small claims court but became concerned when he began making threats against me and my partner. At one point he even began threatening my profession (I work in healthcare) saying things like "my mom goes to your hospital, bet you wouldn't like me going there." Not sure exactly what he was trying to insinuate. I became so concerned that I discussed this with my manager and we handed a picture of George to our security team to make sure he didn't try to enter our premises unlawfully. I really enraged George when my neighbor (who was going to book a job with him) cancelled when he saw the completion of my poorly finished construction. This only continued the threats and verbal assault on me. Living on a dead end my neighbors knew to look out for this man in case he returned without our consent, at one point he did return when we were at work (my neighbor saw him) it was unclear what he was doing on my property. So we installed cameras and a security system. This is not a man you want to work with. I saw his charm and charisma disappear and was met with this violent, dangerous person. He is in no way a professional and is downright scary, please I beg you to not work with him. You will regret it.

on 9/27/2017 my mother and I hired *** do renovate my mothers first floor apartment, so that my son and I could move in; as my mother is ill and no longer can be alone for long periods of time. This project was to be paid 1/2 of the renovations up front and the balance upon completion which should have been 11/1/17. *** kept doing little funny things that I would notice; not being on the job site asking for more money when results were not even made; the last time he asked for money I made it clear this would be the last check until project was completed. He didn't seem to have a problem. Now my mother is an alcoholic with dementia and walks with a walker; she does not handle her money. *** went to my mother and asked for additional funds; a check for $3,800 was cut and then another check for $7,500. These checks were both written out by ***, ***s girl friend(who came to work with him every day and sat in the truck) and they had my mother sign. The job is paid in FULL and not close to being completed. The guy can not be trusted; he knew the circumstances for which why the project was taking place. For him to have his girlfriend write out checks because my mother was not able to do so speaks for itself. I have all documentation and text messages.
