that complaint and have attached documents pertaining to the dispute Indeed, Ms*did visit Bonsai II, Clinton MS on Saturday, August 13, with her family However, there is a misrepresentation by Ms ** stating she was given a bill of $ Attached is the actual ticket that was presented to her for payment of her meals which totaled to $86.07. Ms** placed her credit card in the presenter along with a copy of her bill for $86.07. The server through an unintentional clerical error accidentally charged her credit card only $which she signed and then left the restaurant. Soon after that, her server noticed that he did not charge her for the full amount of her ticket. Because she had already left the restaurant and the server had no way of contacting her, he felt it was his responsibility to resolve this issue in an appropriate manner. In trying to find the best solution to recover the shortage of her payment due and never having experienced this before, his thought was to simply add $to the tip section which was fully intended to cover the discrepancy As the server recognized her as a customer and also considered her a "a very nice lady", he felt she would not object to paying the actual amount that she incurred and would understand the purpose of his correction The ticket was held out of the batch and taped on the wall by the service area just in case Ms** called to question the charge Ms** did call the restaurant on Monday, August to question the charge. Even though she acknowledged that her meal was $she still objected to pay the full amount because "it wasn't her fault," she said At this point, the employees referred this dispute to me, the bookkeeper. I immediately contacted her and explained that although her bill was $but, as she was aware, she only paid $66.07. I did clarify that the server would possibly be responsible for the $short on his shift. However, it was not my intention to "make her feel bad," I was simply just trying to explain his reasoning. Although Ms** and her family received a meal amounting to $86.07, she demanded to pay only the $because of his clerical error. In the interest of good will to our customer, I stated to her that I would refund her $ To address the settlement of Ms**'s complaint, firstly, I have attached the documentation from our Credit Card Processing Company showing we credited her account on the day of our conversation of 8/15/16. Secondly, the server sincerely regrets making the clerical error and then assuming the customer would find no fault in his manner of resolving the situation. Thirdly, in my role as manager, it was necessary for me to explain to her the full reasoning behind the server's actions. Unfortunately, I have no control of how relaying facts would have an effect on her personally Sincerely, *** *** Bonsai II
