RJT Carpentry and Tile was the most highly recommended of the contractors mentioned by *** *** when my wife went there to look at some faucetsWe set up an appointment to review a long list of updates and repairs needed on our home, and Ryaan T*** and Tom R*** came as scheduled and walked through and around our house and discussed each item on the list They were friendly and offered lots of constructive advice, including pointing out some things that really were not necessary and flagging things for which the full extent of the work needed would not be clear until repairs were underway They offered many useful suggestions about materials, subcontractors, and how to approach various aspects of the job They seemed genuinely interested in taking on our house, and my wife and I had very positive vibes from the startRyaan provided estimates for the reconstruction of our enclosed porch/entranceway and remodeling a bathroom, and the other work was on a time and materials basis Ryann took great care to be sure I completely understood everything that was included in the estimate As work progressed, Ryaan and Tom would alert me of possible options I had not previously considered to ensure that I would end up with the results I wanted, and they quickly accommodated changes I suggestedRyaan and Tom are excellent craftsmen They and their associates did everything as promised, and they treated us and our home with great respect The remodeled bathroom looks great, and our new entranceway really enhances the house I especially valued their judgment in identifying the needed repairs and the excellent quality of those repairsI could not be happier with the results I will certainly call Ryaan for any work I need in the future, and I recommend RJT Carpentry and Tile without reservation

I had a terrible experience with BookATailor at their Manhattan location and would not recommend doing business with themAfter buying six shirts I found the quality to be entirely unacceptableThe thread was fraying where the pieces of the shirt were sewn togetherI asked the company to fix it (after the two week return period had ended) and they said they were not under any obligation to but they would tryI returned a week later and the shirts were still in poor conditionThe lady I spoke to, Lauren, said there was nothing more they could do and refused to help meIf I am going to spend over $on shirts I would expect much better customer service than I received at BookATailorThere are plenty of other places that make quality shirts at a similar price, and any of those would be more deserving of your business than BookATailor

we remade your shirt for you several times and you are still not happybecause as you saidyou have a weird body shape.
and then we decided to give you refundand you are still complaining.
I do not think you should complain

This place is running a group-on in Boston and advertising two piece suits for $450, saying it is a 60% discount. Its a lie. I bought it and when I got there I saw that that is just the regular price and when I mentioned it, the owner just shrugged. They took the measurments for my girlfriend and typed it into the computer. We then learned that the suit is made in China. The owners are actually NOT tailors. We picked out material and the options we could in our price range, if we had been able to choose from any of the fabrics or options it might have then been a discount, but everything was an added cost.
The suit came in pretty quickly and the jacket fits nicely. There is a weird bright red weird stiff fabric thing that sticks out of the front breast pocket and the owners replay was "I dont know why they do that". We were asked what name we wanted put on the "custom made for" lable and they got that wrong.
The pants are a big issue. My girlfriend didnt like the way the fit so we were taken to a real tailor to fix them. Honovan Tailor did a great job and had them back in just a day or two. Unfortunately, they still do not sit right. We have gone back and forth with the owners. We still have not come to a resolution. It has now almost 3 months. We looked them up on the Revdex.com and they have multiple complaints. Mine will soon be up there as well.
All and all, the groupon is a flat out scam.
I should have done research before spending so much money.
They are not tailors and have no clue what they are doing. I have wasted $450.

Better...

Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

I never told them a have a "weird body shape". Whoever wrote this didn't talk to me. I sat my phone on the desk where the clerk could see me recording what their rep said. In the recorded conversation there is no mention of a "weird shape". My shape has nothing to do with the shirt being too small. Also they only remade the shirt once and the second one was as small as the first. Actually the sleeves wouldn't even close on the second one. I have photos to prove it. If they just send me my full refund refund timely (soon) we can part ways and I will never buy another shirt from them again. Then they don't have to be bothered by my "weird shape". Maybe instead of being nasty to me, they might want to read the comments on their [redacted] page and their Revdex.com rating and adjust their business practices accordingly.

Review: Ordered a custom shirt at the beginning of 2015. In June/July 2015 it finally came in. Incorrect size. Was re-fitted at the tailor and a new shirt ordered. In October/November called to inquire about shirt was told it was coming. In early December received shirt. It was the same size as the first. Called showroom again and was told the corporate office would contact me as they was nothing the showroom could. Called again, today and given the same answer.Desired Settlement: Refund. I no longer want to attempt to get a shirt in the correct size. That is why I went to a tailor to get one made for my body.

Review: Approximately 6 weeks ago a visited Book-a-Tailor located in Beverly Hills, California to be measured for a made to order suit. After several measurements from the [redacted] I selected the materials (type of wool, liner, etc). The [redacted] made annotations on a form I was then ask to pay for the purchase ($685.91). I ask the [redacted] for a copy of the receipt/forms she filled out and was told “it is not necessary. The forms with your individual measurements will go to the manufacturer.”

Yesterday, December **, 2014 I received an email from Book-a-Tailor advising me that my suit was ready for pick up.

Upon trying the suit I immediately noticed it did not look tailored made for my body type. I noticed the following:

1. The pants were too tight in the thighs, waist and crotched area.

2. The suit jacket’s right shoulder was longer and wider than the left shoulder. Causing the right shoulder’s arm side to create a significant indentation, also known as a divot.

3. Upon buttoning the jacket the left side of the jacket wrinkle up and looked shorter than the right side

4. The backside of the jacket wrinkle up significantly. There was too much extra material

5. The jack fit was tight in the shoulder areas and mid-back.

6. The seamstress

Totally dissatisfied I requested a refund. The [redacted] on duty, [redacted], informed me that they could not initiate a request for refund from this location and to call New York (tel # ###-###-####).

Upon contacting the New York office I requested a refund of my purchase. The [redacted] ([redacted]) asked why and I told her the suit did not fit correctly. [redacted] placed me on hold.

[redacted] told me “don’t you remember the receipt stated “ no refunds.” I informed her I never received a receipt, the store had no clearly displayed no refund signs at the entrance, no refund signs at the register, and no refund signs at the sales counter.

[redacted] then informed me “my manager will call you back.” I have received no phone calls.

I request a full refund of the purchase price $685.91.

The seamstress on duty advised that after significant alterations the suit " may fit better."Desired Settlement: Refund complete purchase price of $685.91 to my credit cards

Review: I purchased a gift voucher from a website called [redacted]. The gift I purchased was for 3 Custom Tailored men's shirts for my boyfriend. The company named "[redacted]" was advertising a 60% discount through [redacted]. 3 Custom tailored shirts they claim as a $390 value was offered for $145. According to the [redacted] website, the custom tailored shirts included your choice of collar and cuff type. My boyfriend went to the address [redacted] said was is [redacted] address ([redacted]). My boyfriend had an 11am appointment. Company advertises a 10:30am opening. No one was at the store until 11:30am. The ACTUAL name on the outside of the business office was NOT [redacted] but Book A Tailor. My boyfriend was charged an additional $50 to have the collar and cuffs of his choice. This IS NOT what this company advertised. Also, whenever you try to call ANY of the telephone numbers from the website [redacted] OR Book A Tailor NO ONE ANSWERS.

I want a full reimbursement but I cannot get a hold of anyone. This company is a scam9Desired Settlement: Full reimbursement!

Review: Placed and paid in full for a man's suit with 2 dress shirts and a vest on Feb. **, 2014 and was told I would receive the suit within 3-4 weeks. It has now been 16 weeks and I still have not received my items, despite phone calls and emails with "[redacted]" at their corporate office and "[redacted]" at their [redacted] office. I have been told several times over the last 2 months that I will receive my items "in two weeks", but have received nothing. I have stopped in at the [redacted] office twice and also been told in person that my items had shipped. But I have not yet recived them.[redacted] blames the person who initially took my order for not promptly placing it, but that was back in February, and frankly is not my problem but theirs! They rarely, if ever, return phone calls or emails asking for more information.I have prepaid a total of $956.65 for items that should have been delivered by April *, 2014.Desired Settlement: I want to receive my items in the next ten business days. No later. If they have to fly someone to the manufacturer to bring them to [redacted], then that's what they need to do. This is ridiculous and inexcusable that it should have taken them 16 weeks to deliver my suit, shirts and vest.

Sincerely,

Review: I had this deal purchased back in December of 2012 through living social. The voucher number is [redacted]. (The name on the voucher is [redacted] who purchased the voucher for me with his credit card.) A gentleman named [redacted] who worked for book a tailor came out to New Jersey to take measurements. Since then we have had a multitude of issues regarding the order including but not limited to never receiving the suit jacket. When we received the order; the jacket was much too large. We went to book a tailor at the Manhattan office to have this fixed and [redacted] agreed that the jacket did not fit well. Since then, we have not been able to get in contact with [redacted] and never received our jacket. This has been going on since February. Furthermore, the two custom made dress shirts that came with the order shrunk after one use. The overall quality of this entire purchase and the service we received from book a tailor was and is completely horrible and has been a nightmare to deal with. We finally contacted book a tailors corporate office at ([redacted] (same location as the number you have of [redacted]). It took the manager, [redacted] over two weeks to finally get back to me about the blazer and two shirts that shrunk. His response was that we now have to go back into their Manhattan office yet again to get re measured because he does not know where [redacted] last left off with our order. Whatever happened with management and [redacted] is none of our concern. This is an example of POOR MANAGEMENT. In addition to that, his only explanation to the shirts shrinking is because we dry cleaned them and not laundered them. Meanwhile, I do not know any custom made dress shirts that should not be DRY CLEANED and ONLY laundered. And [redacted] who took our order never mentioned such specific instructions. This has been ongoing for months now. Since February to be exact. And my husband simply does not have the time to run in and out of the Manhattan when he is busy maintaining his law practice in New Jersey. At this point we feel that we deserve a refund. Everything about this experience was horrific. The material/fabric low quality, and customer service very poor, and the management of their company is really truly making them suffer. But we as the customer should NOT have to suffer for such poor management. This deal was not cheap. We paid $499 for a custom made suit and two dress shirts that we never received in its entirety and we will not ever receive it. My husband will not go back into the city for a 3rd measurement on a blazer that was poorly made and the shirts are not wearable. All we have is a pair of suit pants. The deal was a rip off and we regret going through living social for it in the first place. We tried to give book a tailor the benefit of the doubt and be patient with them, which explains why we are complaining to you now and demanding a refund after the deadline to request a refund expired. But after the office manager, [redacted], expressed to us that we need to go back to New York to try on the blazer again and refitted, that was the last straw. Then he offered to mail it to us but he still did not know if [redacted] made the alterations on it or not. I told him I want a a refund because we simply do not have any use for this now months later, and after all this trouble we never want to even see anything from book a tailor ever again. [redacted] said I need to get the refund from living social. You're attention and cooperation to this matter is greatly appreciated. Kindly please contact me directly at this email.Desired Settlement: We want [redacted] the manager at book a tailor to contact Living Social and tell them to refund $499.00 to the credit card that was charged under [redacted]. The voucher number they need to apply the refund to is [redacted]. We do not want the blazer anymore. If book a tailor desires it, we will ship the pants back, and the two dress shirts that shrank.

Review: Ordered a custom tuxedo for a wedding. Secured, prior to the transaction, in-writing guarantees that the tuxedo would arrive before the wedding. After tons of excuses and unreturned phone calls and emails, I had to go buy another tuxedo for the wedding. Now I am demanding a refund and they are giving me the run-around with lots of excuses.Desired Settlement: Refund $598.81 - purchase price plus tax
