throw for a proper return. The boomerang in question was hand crafted from airplane grade plywood, which is the strongest wood we have been able to find which is light enough for this function. We actually import the wood from Finland in order to use the best wood in the world for these items. We make the boomerang out of a single piece of airplane quality wood. It is not pieced together. It is as strong as we can possibly make it using the type of wood needed.

We guarantee such products until the point in which they are thrown. If an arrow is shot out of a bow would someone expect it to be warranted after it lands or is embeded into an object? Boomerangs are similar. They are an object which travels at high speeds through the air, often over 60-70 MPH. We cannot control the thrower's technique or the objects it hits. We have videos on line showing how to throw boomerangs and extensive instructions. Even if thrown perfectly it is still possible to break one but it is rare. We would hope that the customer would not give up as boomerangs are a lot of fun and usually can be thrown over an over for years without a break.

Our published return policy which specifically states the warranty is here: http://www.boomerangs.com/returnpolicy.html. I've copied the section in question below:

That is the warranty which has been on the website for over 5 years now. We regret that it happened and wish we could do more but that is the policy we need to operate under. Objects thrown through the air at high speeds are sometimes going to break.

Review: I ordered a boomerang for my son's birthday. The day we received it we read the directions carefully and went to an open grassy field, as recommended, to use the boomerang. After approximately 8-10 tosses the boomerang landed in the grass and split in half. I called the company when we arrived home to explain the situation and to receive a refund. The representative I spoke with on Saturday the 16th of August said she would look into an exchange. I explained that I would prefer a refund over an exchange. She did say she would see what she could do and would get back to me. A few days later I received an email stating that there would be no exchange or refund. I did speak with a representative the next day and expressed my disappointment with their policy. She expressed that this was rare for a boomerang to break like that on the first day of use. I requested the email address of the president of the company which she would not provide me with. She then stated he was away. I requested again and asked for his e-mail and she said he is not excepting calls or e-mails for the past several days and for the upcoming days. She forgot that earlier in the conversation that a representative spoke with the president and he said no refunds. There were many inconsistencies in her conversation. Today they sent an email stating they strive on excellent customer service. How can they when they don't stand behind their product and the product breaks after 8-10 uses. We followed the direction, and were careful when using. They show no flexibility and our $34.9 is gone with one disappointed child.Desired Settlement: If not a refund that a least a new boomerang. The product should not have broken when it landed on the grass.
