On November 4, 2014 we had a party come to the park. The party was scheduled to start at 1:00pm but the party parents did not check in until 1:25pm, they were late. Upon arrival the party parent was very upset that she was late and checked in with our server.  They had 15 kids...

instead of the 10 reserved so the party hostess prepared for 15 kids. The parents were scheduled inside for their table time and the pizza order was taken. The children and the mother were escorted to their tables. The party mom wanted to eat first so the children were given their tokens to play inside with while the pizza was cooked. They ate their food and then the party mother asked for her free souvenir cups. The party mother misunderstood that the souvenir cups were an additional charge and wanted to speak with a manager. Our manager for the morning spoke to her and showed her the flyer indicating it was an upgrade.  She decided that she did not want to pay for those and then wanted to do her tie dye experience. She was upset that we were not going to give her the upsell item for free and was upset her table time was coming to an end. Her original time was 1:00pm-2:00pm. Our server extended her time so she could finish her activities. We do the tie dye experience outside as the activity can be very messy. The party mom did not want to go outside but we indicated with the carpet we need to go outside. The children went to the gazebo to complete the activity and had a great time. At the gazebo, the party parents friends talked to the server and asked what could we do for them because it was now past their table time and they felt they were being rushed, even though they were late and we extended their time. The manager talked to them and she gave them adult wristbands for the go karts because the children were not tall enough to ride alone and the parents were more upset about moving than the table time at this point. The server needed to get more dye for the children and returned with a second server to help finish the activity and the parents (4 in total) received free rider wristbands. The party was cashed out and paid for at 3:21pm. They had purchased the wing platter for the adults, the tie dye experience and the 15 birthday packages. The party mom indicated she was upset with the service because the table time was too long. The servers tried their best to accommodate her as she was late and the children took their time with the tie dye activity.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
--We were not late, we showed up on time, waited in line and had to wait for our host to set up.
--I called 48 hours before the day of the party to give a final head count for 15 children. Boomers employees failed to make the necessary changes.

--We were not scheduled inside of Boomers. Our table was outside the whole time and I had no problem with us being outside because the weather was nice and I knew we were doing the tie dye.

--I did NOT request to eat first. The host suggested we do the tie dye first and then eat. No tokens were given to anyone until half of the party left and [redacted] apologized and handed the tokens to me only. No other children or parents received any tokens. [redacted] handed me the tokens after I had already paid for the party at 3:21 PM.

--We never complained of being rushed from our party table, after all, the place was practically empty and the children, by then, were on the rides. There were 2 other small birthday parties that were placed at different tables.

--Only one child could not ride the go carts alone so only one parent received a wristband and was willing to pay for it. But because [redacted] knew she made a lot of mistakes she gave the parent the wristband for free. I had to get in touch with this parent to ask how she received the wristband. She simply asked [redacted] where to purchase the wristband to ride the go cart with her small child and [redacted] gave her the wristband. The parent did not ask for a (free) wristband and was NOT upset to purchase one if she had to.

--Yes there was a misunderstanding from me regarding the souvenir cups but at no time was I upset. I told [redacted] don't worry about the cups because the children had their tie dye shirts.

-- Another parent requested to speak to the manager but was told by [redacted] that no manager was available. At no time did anyone including me, speak to a manager.

All in all the service was bad. This is not our first time having a birthday party at a facility like this but this is the first time having service so bad that I actually have to write a review about it. For Boomers to suggest that I was so irate the day of the party, requested free items, and the other blatant lies told is beyond disappointing. It is obvious that Boomers is not taking responsibility for anything but instead blaming the party parent (customer) for everything that went wrong. I will never do business with this company again and will strongly discourage family and friends from coming to Boomers.
Regards,
[redacted]
