I was contacted by a [redacted] about [redacted] Camry I had on my car lot multiple times starting in early JanuaryI have never met anyone named [redacted] [redacted] told me she was looking for a car for her daughter ***Eventually on 1-22-a cash deal was struck for $plus tax & license and document fees for a total cash sale of $The due bill reflected that I as the dealer would provide a new windshield for the carThe daughter [redacted] missed two scheduled appointments to have the windshield replaced with out noticeEvery vehicle bought and sold here goes through a Smog and Safety inspection performed by a certified shop and this [redacted] Camry was no exception! The client who signed for the vehicle [redacted] also signed separate documents stating that the vehicle was sold as is! So to expect me to pay for a transmission full months after purchasing the car leads me to this questionAt what point do you become an owner of the as is vehicle that you purchased? My answer is: When you leave the lot!

I was contacted by a [redacted] about 2002 [redacted] Camry I had on my car lot multiple times starting in early January. I have never met anyone named [redacted]. Every vehicle bought and sold here goes through a Smog and Safety inspection performed by a certified shop and this 2002 [redacted] Camry was no exception! The client who signed for the vehicle [redacted] also signed 3 separate documents stating that the vehicle was sold as is! So to expect me to pay for a transmission 5 full months after purchasing the car leads me to this question. At what point do you become an owner of the as is vehicle that you purchased? Review: I started looking and doing some research for a reliable car for my sister. We live in Sonora, CA and sometimes it is hard with her schedule and mine to look too far. We noticed a nice 2002 Toyota Camry in the Boomtown Motors lot in Jamestown, CA. I asked my sister to take a look at this with her fiance. They did look at the car the next day and said they would be interested in looking at it. We all took a drive that Saturday to inquire and open up the hood to look at the motor. My sister's fiance checked everything out since he and his dad work on cars together. They took a test drive and all seemed fine.I decided to buy the car for my sister and paid cash for the car ($7,200). The car drove fine for two months and was inspected by a mechanic. On April 23, 2015 only three months after purchasing the transmission blew. There was leaks all over the ground that day when it was parked.I feel this dealer should be put out of business because he knew he was selling a car that was wrecked and had issues. There should be transparency in a transaction when so much money is being spent. Sales person and owner stated that this vehicle was inspected and showed no problems. This vehicle should have had a thorough inspection prior to being sold and we feel this was not done. There was a complaint made directly to [redacted] (Owner) by text on April 23, 2015. He offered to help with 15% of the repair work. I declined since I prefer to hire my own repair person to ensure that the engine and transmission will be fixed properly.Desired Settlement: I would like this business to reimburse for a transmission for the 2002 Toyota Camry not to exceed $1300. I will agree to repair the rest of the damage caused by the transmission problem that was sold fraudulently this way!
