Review: My daughter took her car in because it wouldn't start. So we called a towing company and had it towed to their shop because they said they would be able to work on it. After bring the car to Boone Tire Center, they said I am not able to complete a compression test because of the timing belt and that the timing belt needed to be replaced. They said they could replace it. Upon installation of the new belt the car still wasn't running. They said we need a new engine but need to pay them for the timing belt. A diagnostic was never done prior to the work. I paid the money and took it to another shop in Charlotte and they said that a compression test could have been done prior installing a new belt and that I got ripped off. I paid $600 and my daughters car still was not running. I have the invoice from the other shop that ended up putting in a new engine stating what he found.Desired Settlement: I would like this business to be held accountable. I feel that they took advantage of a college student that didn't know anything about cars. They said they would fix it and they did not. I believe that they should have done a diagnostic before saying that the timing belt needed to be replaced. At the end my daughters car was not running and we paid for a service that was not needed because a new timing belt came with a new engine. I respectfully request a refund.
