I talked with [redacted] about her invoice for the service work that was completed. She had called to complain while I was out. I reviewed her invoice before calling her back. be GFCI protected. The existing wiring required a GFCI outlet to be installed in a location on the counter top that [redacted] at first refused to be installed. The Journeyman Electrician took allot of time explaining to her options, she said I don’t care about codes this is my house. More time was spent showing her the code article and a sketch / drawing showing her how the existing cables are wired behind the walls from outlet to outlet. She also refused a GFCI circuit breaker option. (Five GFCI at 15 minutes each = 1.25 hours)She requested the Journeyman Electrician to repair a fluorescent light fixture. This required a parts supply run for the electronic ballast. [redacted] never mentioned this scope of work while scheduling the service call. (Replace ballast 30 minutes, parts run 30 minutes = 1 hour)[redacted] requested the exterior patio light fixtures to be repaired. The Journeyman Electrician removed the motion light and tested the existing home power that tested good. The Journeyman Electrician told [redacted] she needs a new motion light, that we do not repair this this type of disposable light. She said she will replace it later to reinstall it. (Trouble-shoot patio light = 30 minutes)  (We charge for drive time to the job site = 30 minutes)  (We charge for set up, clean up and filling out paper the paper work while on the job = 30 minutes) I called [redacted] to hear what she had to say, after she was done explaining her thoughts I told her if I added up the estimated time for the work that was done it came to 3.5 hours. I offered to reduce the invoice to 3.5 hours, [redacted] said yelling that this was an insult I will pay the full amount and never call you again.  I started working for Boones Ferry Electric, Inc in 1992 and now the Vice President. I’m open to do what you think is fair and keep the Company record clean. I paid the Journeyman Electrician employee for his time and he got the paper work signed.
