Review: There are two parts to this complaint:1). On April 15 2014, I ordered a pair of custom made boots and paid a $500 deposit. The boots were supposed to be delivered by mid August 2014. I checked with Boots-N-duds in early September 2014 after my boots were NOT delivered and no phone call or other contact from Boots-N- Duds. [redacted] explained that she had trouble with her boot maker due to his wife's illness. I am understanding and [redacted] promises my boots by the end of September 2014. By the end of September, still no boots and another excuse. [redacted] promises the boots by the end of October 2014. By the end of October, still no boots and more excuses but promises the boots by Thanksgiving 2014. After Thanksgiving, still no boots. I ask for my deposit to be refunded. [redacted] says that she can't pay the refund now, but will mail it to me before Christmas 2014. After the New Year 2015, I start calling because I have now moved to [redacted]. I call many times asking for my refund. By mid January 2015, [redacted] sends a Boots-N-Duds check. I cash it and it is returned for non sufficient funds. I call to tell [redacted] about her bounced check and she denies that it bounced saying she had enough money in her account. I was charged $12 by my bank, [redacted], for the bounced check. I have documentation from [redacted] showing that her check bounced.2). Second problem, I bought another pair of boots from Boots-N-Duds in November 2014. I paid $514 including tax. [redacted] was supposed to stretch the left boot because it was a little tight. I took the boots home and wore them around the house to break them in as instructed by [redacted]. The next morning, my feet were hurting so badly that I could barely stand to walk from wearing the boots the evening before. I returned the boots and [redacted] took the boots back without any fuss. She said that we could settle up with the refund of these and the delivery of the boots in problem number 1 above. I agreed since the refund is about the balance owed of the customDesired Settlement: I just want my $500 deposit refunded from the custom boots that I ordered in April 2014. I also want my $514 refunded from the boots that were too small that [redacted] took back. So far, all I have heard is excuses. [redacted] says that she has a no refund policy and has a sign in her store. I never saw the sign and she NEVER mentioned a no refund policy when I returned the boots.
