The person that filed a complaint is correct that he paid the fees to hire our firm to file a Chapter bankruptcy He also provided us with the required paperwork to complete the necessary bankruptcy court documents When a client pays the fees and provides us with the necessary
paperwork, we start working on the case This is usually what clients expect and the reason why you would pay an attorney in the first place At a later date this person determined that his income would not decrease, as he was told by his employer, and therefore would have to file a Chapter bankruptcy based on the income requirements He decided that he did not want to file the Chapter and requested a refund and closure of his case with our firm We provided him with a detailed accounting of the fees charged and issued a refund Instead of contacting us to discuss his concerns about the refund, he immediately filed a complaint instead If he had contacted our firm prior to filing the complaint, we would have explained the charges and attempted to reach a satisfactory resolution Once, we noticed the complaint, our office contacted the Client, explained our justification for working on the case once we were paid in full and reached an acceptable resolution for both sides The Client stated that he would withdraw his complaint but has not done soHe stated he was satisfied with our explanation and additional refund provided
