Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa Reviews (9)

Review: I was playing poker in their online program. After an hour in a tourney, (hour and half give or take) it suddenly said I was no longer in the state of NJ and logged me out. I immediately used all the trouble shooting steps listed online. Nothing. I contacted Borgata online by thier webchat function. My concern was that by then even if I got back into the tournament, the blinds posted in my absence had bled me dry and I would have had a 10k chip disadvantage. I had effectively lost already. I wanted a $5 refund. $5. Instead they dragged it out, argued with me and refused to consider the refund. I eventually sent a number of emails, and finally they said they would credit my account with $5 of tournment money, meaning I would not be able to cash it out ever. I advised that I was disgusted that their company had done the bare minimum and had uninstalled their program and would be advising everyone I know to avoid Borgata online and their casino. My emails have only provoked responses that are little more than form letters. My complaint is over this company doing as little as possible to resolve or address my issues.Desired Settlement: I want my $5 back, not tourney money. $5 bucks. Its not even about the money, its only $5 bucks, its simply the principle. I want an actual apology, not some [redacted] phoned in nonsense. They have wasted a few hours of my time, if I was legally allowed to send them a bill for my hourly rate I would.

Review: After staying at the Borgata I had a $5.00 debit taken off of my card. I called and asked what that was for and they told me it was a "tourist fee" . After spending almost $600.00 for one nights stay, I just felt ripped off.Desired Settlement: refund of my $5.00

Review: I rented a suite for the night for my sister's bachelorette party which cost over $700 for one night. Upon entering the room we noticed that a lamp was broken, there were bodily fluids on both couches, and the floor was soaking wet in one area. This is a serious health concern to have bodily fluids in an area where people will be sitting, and if that is how their couches and floor are kept I was not taking a risk with the condition of the beds. We notified the front desk of the issues and they sent someone up from housekeeping. The person did not even inspect the room and left. We requested a new room so after dinner they had a bellhop come up to move our items. Problem was, they deactivated our keys so we couldn't access the room that had all of our items in it. We had to go back down to the front desk and wait for them to re-issue our access and then move our items to a new room in a separate side of the hotel.

The front desk manager promised we would be refunded $100.00 and the director of housekeeping promised an additional $129.00 on top of that for the extra hassle and issues we were dealt, a refund totaling $229.00. To date, I have only received a credit for $109.00. I have called the Borgata 5-7 times and have left multiple voice-mails for their accounting department but no one has gotten back to me regarding the status of the refund. I expect a lot more from a hotel with the reputation that the Borgata does, especially when paying the money we did for a suite. This took away from the whole evening having to deal with these issues throughout the night and it is even more disappointing they did not hold up to their refund that they promised.Desired Settlement: I would like to receive a refund to my credit card or a check sent to my home address for $120.00.

Review: On December 15, 2014 I purchased 3 tickets to the night club event, [redacted] at [redacted] on December 29, 2014, through Borgata's online box office. The website that I purchased the tickets from nor the confirmation email specified that I would have to arrive at the venue prior to 11:00 PM. At approximately 11:45 PM I attempted to pick up my tickets from will call. The box office was closed, I was instructed by a customer care representative that I should pick up my tickets from the venue directly. When I arrived at the venue I was informed by multiple employees that the club was at capacity and that it was a fire marshal issue, that they could not give me any tickets and I would have to wait to the side. I waited approximately an hour and a half. At that time I spoke to an individual manning the front desk who informed me that it was doubtful that we would get in since the line was well over 100 people long and they were entitled to go in first since they already had their tickets in hand and I could stand to the side and wait and see. We waited approximately another half hour, the line had not moved and the individuals were still telling people the club was at capacity. At this point I asked the individual at the front desk if I called the box office tomorrow if I could get a refund. He said most likely but he was not positive because that was a box office issue. On December 30th I attempted to call the box office, I was informed the box office does not take calls and was directed to speak to a customer service representative. The customer service representative transferred me to a VIP representative to sort out the issue. When I explained the above situation to that individual they spoke to the manager of the box office and their supervisor. She informed me that the physical ticket stated you must arrive prior to 11:00 PM. I explained that I was not able to actually get my physical ticket and was not aware of this stipulation until after 11:00PM.Desired Settlement: I would like to get refunded $111.00 the total amount I was charged for the tickets I purchased. Customer service has informed me that this was impossible because if I had waited I would have gotten in eventually and to managements knowledge there was no capacity issues.

Review: As a guest stayed at borgata on weekend 10/31-11/02. My friend and I booked a spa day at spa [redacted] on Saturday November 1st. Right After treatment we decided to use the jacuzzi, getting in I stepped on a metal thermometer which was laying on the floor unsecured. This metal thermometer has a sharp metal edge all around. I cut my left foot and had to be taken to the hotels medical office . The worst part of this experience was coming back to spa and manager didn't even come over to ask how I was doing until my friend pointed this out to her. There was absolutely no acknowledgement of the incident or any kind of concern . I even witnessed her throwing the thermometer back in the water. I also had to point out that there was a puddle of water on the floor that another guest could trip and fall. Borgata security took pictures and made a report of the incident. I couldn't stay to use spa facilities because of my injury, our stay was ruined and money wasted. This was the worst experience that we have ever had at the spa and we have been coming here since the hotel has opened. The manager refused to compensate us in any way for this incident. She was in no way apologetic or concern for a guest well being. The spa needs to maintain a higher level of safety and manager needs better training in customer relations.

I tried to resolve this directly with business, I contacted the director of spa service [redacted] same day but still no answer back . Have not received any reply .Desired Settlement: Since I lost the day at the spa that I planned to have after massage service ,I'd like to be compensated for all spa charges including the treatment.

Review: Borgata just stole $20 from me. I was online and saw that you could enroll to play (assuming like NY fun play) They took my money and then I couldn't play. Was told you have to be in NJ. WHAT? Why was I even allowed to do this? I live in NY - Tried to resolve asap and they REFUSED. I want my $20 back IMMEDIATELY. Borgata has lost my trust and respect. Just 2 weeks ago they placed a hold on my card for Hotel stay and only just released it today CROOKS. I want me REFUND back ASAPDesired Settlement: Borgata just stole $20 from me. Review: I am a new user to party poker software in NJ. I signed up 1 week ago to see what it was like and try it out. I have never deposited nor withdrawn money, I was playing with the bonus I was given for signing up. I downloaded the application on my phone, there was a setting entitled "time limit". I thought setting this was specific to my phone and would close the app if I didn't play at the table for over an hour. Turns out this is a responsible gaming setting and I can now no longer play for longer than 60 minutes. I tried to get it reversed but was told this was a gambling concern and could not be changed for 30 days. I asked to speak with someone to prove that this was a mistake and as I've never deposited nor withdrawn money, nor sat for over 3 hours and played, that I clearly don't have a gaming issue. I was told the setting could not be reversed for 30 days no matter what and that there was no one I could speak to about whether or not I have a gaming issue. The facts all point to the fact that this was an error, a mistake on my part which I admitted, but the fact that it cannot be reversed for 30 days and theres no one I can speak to about it is absurd. I would like to have the limit reversed as I clearly do not have a gambling issue...the majority of the games I played in were free entry! The product also needs to be adjusted to make sure people know what they are doing when they set this limit on their phone...it is not made clear what you are doing when you adjust it.Desired Settlement: I would like the limit to be reversed in less than 30 days so that I can start playing and I would like someone to contact me so we can review everything that I've said and why there would be a system within their product that takes ONE MONTH to adjust with no possible override for human error. I understand that there is a gambling concern, but I should be allowed to prove this was a mistake.

Review: My friend and I booked a spa day at spa [redacted], which we were looking forward too. After the treatment we decided to use the jacuzzi, in getting in my friend stepped on a metal thermometer which was laying on the bottom unsecured, she cut her foot and had to go to the hotels medical office. When we finally got back , the manager [redacted] didn't even come over to see if my friend was alright , no concern was shown until I pointed it out to her. I witnessed the manager throwing the thermometer back into the water, because they need to maintain a certain temperature in the jacuzzi's as per the health dept., but I'm not sure how they do this because it took them close to 20 minutes to get this thermometer out with a net so that the hotels security can take a picture of the thermometer for their report because of my friends accident.

This was the worse experience that we ever had at this spa , there was absolutely no acknowledgement of the incident or any kind of concern shown by the staff or manager. We have been coming here since the hotel opened.

We had been looking forward to a relaxing day at their facilities and had to leave because of my friends injury. This is absolutely unacceptable and our money and time was wasted. The spa needs to maintain a higher level of safety and staff needs better training in customer service. My friend also emailed the director of spa's [redacted], but have not received any response.

This is not what I have expected from the borgata.Desired Settlement: Full refund
