This letter is in response to the customer complaint filed on 02-04-16, ID ***.The customer claims he was overcharged for the live crab he purchasedThe customer orderedcrabs and was charged for 30.3# at $5.75/lbAllegedly, the weight was different when hearrived home and reweighed the
crab on his personal scaleThe claim is for 4.7# of weight thatwas lighter than the charged weight at the marketThe claim also indicates that when he calledthe shop, no one would "make it right" as well as being hung up on and not receiving a call back.A few facts to fill in:• The customer was present during the entire transaction at the marketHe did not questionany part of itHe did make mention to how big the crabs were.• The live crab we carry are all over 2#They are held in our live tank until soldThe crabs arehand-picked from the deliveries we receive.• crab weighing 30.3# would make each crab on overage of 2.16#The weight he isclaiming was short4.7#, and is the overage equivalent of crabs2.35#.• Our scales at the market are state certifiedThey are NOT just a "food quality scale".• The customer was never hung up on and did receive two call backs from mepersonally. The messages left were to return my call. The desired settlement by the customer is not an optionHe was present during the entiretransaction and did not question any portOur Oregon State certified and licensed scales areaccurateI'm sorry he feels that he has been "ripped off" but the employees at the marketpractice honesty and integrity with all customer transactionsTo defuse the closing statement in hisclaimwe are not stupid.Thank you for your time and assistance with this matter.Malcolm C*** - General ManagerBORNSTEIN SEAFOOD WARRENTON DEEP SEA MARKET

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because: What ever happen the old business model that the customer is always right. Three thing in their response is wrong. I was hung up on. I talk to Katy twice and was being transferred to Linda and the phone went dead. I never talk to Malcolm. I was told he would call me, but I waited a week before filing this claim because he never called. The crab was not taken out of the tank. They tared a box and got them out back. Out of my view. They weight other fish in between reweighting the box of crab from out back. Something happened with the tare on box or something. I removed the crab and put them in my cooler to take home. 8 of the crab were big, not all of them were over 2 lb. I questioned it myself the weight seemed heavy. I have crabbed for 30 years, but this was the first time I have done busnessI with them. Should have had them reweighted. I check my dietary scale with my counter weights from my reloading scales. It was right on. I have never filled a claim in my 57 years of doing business in this State. They knew I was from the valley, I would not be able to bring them back. I am a small business owner too. I would be out of business it I had their business model. I would recommend bringing a scale if you are from the valley, if you are going to do business with them.  I will never.
Sincerely,[redacted]
