August 22, 2016Dear Revdex.com:We are not disputing their day return period. Had we known we would not receive the bags until the following month, we would have waited until the following summer to order them. As we explained, we did not get a chance to mount the bags until April. We contacted them twice in April, via telephone, and left messages but never received a return phone callAll modifications that were performed were done via instructions from Boss Bags. When I purchased these bags, I was told they were custom fitted to an FXR model and I was not told I would have to further modify the bags to make them fit. In their response, Boss Bags says the bags were built to fit any FXR, not custom built to fit her exact motorcycle. All FXRs had the same rear fender strut set up so if the bags were custom built to fit a FXR they should not have required any modifications on her bike. After following the written instructions to make the bags fit and still having problems, I contacted a tech at Boss Bags who told me “to try bending the mounting studs.” My point is that had I known these bags would not bolt right on, I would not have bought them. I was told I was paying for a custom fit and that is not what I got. Given all of this we asked Boss Bags to accept a return of the bags for a discounted refund which we feel is a fair resolution to this situation. On May 25, Boss Bags emailed us and asked us to send pictures of the bags (one is still in the box and the other was modified per their instructions) and provide them “an idea of what would be a fair credit amount.” We sent pictures of the modified bag and told them we thought $would be a fair return, given the bags cost $1100. We have not heard back from them. I am asking the Revdex.com to mediate a resolution in which Boss Bags accepts a return of the bags and refunds us a portion of our initial cost. I believe that if a company that truly cared about customer satisfaction this would be a fair resolution as they can resell the original bag that has not been modifiedThank you for your help.*** ***

This couple did come into our booth at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in Rapid City, SD We discussed saddlebags for an FXR and looked at photos in a photo album which showed the saddlebags on a FXR They placed the order on 8/7/and we told them the bags would be built when we got
back from the rally which ended 8/15/ We shipped the bags on 9/1/The bags were delivered to the customer on 9/4/at 4:pm. The very first contact we had from the customer was an email on 5/8/ Our return policy is clearly stated on our website and with the paperwork shipped with every pair of saddlebags: Returns are subject to a day limit Merchandise must be in new condition The fact of the more than months that passed from the time of shipment until the email was sent is a very major problem A copy of our return policy is being sent to you by fax.I disagree that the emails show the product fit was misrepresented The customer email states after extensive filing and modifying he got the right bag to go on Our directions state "you may need to take a rat tail file and file an inside or outside edge of coupler hole to allow perfect alignment" Extensive filing and modifying is never required Before that was done a call should have been made to our tech Mounting instructions are being faxed as well. The bags were built to fit any FXR -- not custom built for her exact motorcycle as stated in the complaint. Complaint says they finally got an email address: Our email address and phone numbers are clearly stated on our website and the paperwork sent with the saddlebags. I don't quite understand the last statement of the complaint We never questioned his ability to mount the saddlebags--it doesn't require a certified mechanic to put them on We did however question why he would have done, in his words, extensive modifying without calling first
