Review: In April,2014 I thought I was purchasing a short block 383 engine for my car which they said I would have my engine in 4-6 weeks. The price was $1575 and I did not get my engine. I keep getting the run around. So by Aug.,2014 I was tired of waiting for an engine that was not coming and asked for a refund which they said I would get. I am still waiting for my refund of $1575 as this month of Nov.2014. They took the money out of my bank account and was paid in full. The company keeps telling me lies. I am not a happy person with this. I call every week to try and get my refund. Hope u can help. ,Desired Settlement: I would like a certified check in the amount of $1575 sent to this address :[redacted] .. Also I would like other people to know what I have been going thru.

this has got to be one of the best places to get a motor built .prices beat everyone else - anywhere. I ordered a 383 and dint know anything baout engines and the guys helped with everything and got spec sheets and break in instructins. the motor runs so great in my old camero, hp is better than I could ask for. would buy again

Review: They have you sign a form stating the engine will be built within 6-8 weeks of payment, then why does it take a hundred excuses and 5 months later and still nothing. I have done my research and this business was formerly Speed Industries and I am one of dozens and dozens of ripped off customers that have nothing to show for all this stress and loss of $ and time.On thing I can say is they changed there name Speed Industries to Boss Machine & Fabrication and I didn't properly research prior, but now to find out there has been so many complaints against them for the same things and I should have known better. This is the email that I received from the company about my refund of money they owe me back. Hi,We have received your refund request on 12/06/13, we are sorry for any inconvenience. Once a product is as far along in the building process, as yours was waiting to be shipped to you. Our order cancellation refund request policy is that the refund will be issued via company check 30 - 45 days after the refund request is received. Had the order cancellation refund request been recieved within our given 5 days from the order date it would have been issued right away. I assure you the refund for your cancelled order will be issued no later than 01/21/14Thank you,All they will give is some excuses on shipping, excuses on parts availability which is a total bs lie, lies about shippers picking things up on time when it was never picked up in the first place, and more lies why I wasn't getting my engine.Desired Settlement: I am desired for a refund of my money for $3,200 by 01/21/14,but have not received anything yet.

Review: I ordered a motor from them in June. The 4-6 wk window is well past due. First they claimed it was being shipped (after 6 wks), then it was lost. 3 weeks ago they said it had been damaged being shipped to the wrong place and had to buy a new oil pan. Now the owner refuses to answer my phone calls nor will he return them. The engine is still not here.It has been 14 weeks.Desired Settlement: Please contact the company's owner [redacted].

Review: I ordered a motor from boss machine and fab on 6-16-2014 they told me I will have it 11-28-2014 still no motor it's 1-20-2015Desired Settlement: I would like and refund of my money

Review: I bought a motor for $2,700.00 and never got it. Wont answer phone or emailsDesired Settlement: What I payed for plus time lost over a years worth

Review: On or about March 23, 2014 I ordered a 383 stroker (car motor) and was told it would ship out on May 7th, 2014. I called to change the delivery address on that day and they told me it had not been shipped yet and that it should be shipped in a day or two. I waited and waited and after making several phone calls decided to cancel the order and get a refund. The company agreed and said that the funds should be available within a few days. Kept calling my card company and they had no record of a refund transaction. I called Boss Machine and asked them if they could just send me a check for the refund and they agreed. I, then, decided to contact my card company to dispute the charges. I called Boss Machine and they said that they were going to send the check but I filed the dispute so they weren't. I made an agreement with a man on the phone and he said if I drop the dispute that he would send me a check. I never received a check. I got a letter in the mail from my card company that nothing would happen with the dispute. I called Boss Machine and told them of the letter and they said they got a letter as well and that the check was mailed. I waited to receive the check in the mail and it never came. I called Boss Machine back and demanded a money order be sent via USPS, FED-EX, or UPS next day delivery. I was told the best they could do is to send it USPS Priority mail and that I would receive it either Aug. 7 or 8. Today is the 13th of August and no check and no product.Desired Settlement: I want to get my money back plus damages. I have mental disorders and this caused me to go into a depression and affected me and everyone around me. I have had to borrow money from friends and relatives to pay debts that I could have paid if I would have gotten the money in a reasonable amount of time. I have not filed it yet but I have court papers ready to file in small claims court in Reno County, KS

I have read good and bad reviews about Boss and now it is my turn! I ordered a 383 stroker from them and finally got it in my car last weekend. All I can say is their engine really runs great! I didnt have time to build one this time because I am so busy with my work lately. Their build time did go over a bit and I was getting concerned, but they always kept in touch with me, always answered the phone or called right back, and always emailed me with any info I asked for.[redacted] did her job perfect! They probably should state a little longer build time so people dont get upset when it goes over a bit as I have read some reviews with that complaint. All I can say is that they have built me one hell of a runner, with excellent power and torque that exceeded my expectations and I have had some hot rods in my 50 plus years! So keep up the good work Boss Machine and Fab.

Review: I orderd a 383 chevrolet engine. I received a 388 engine. I can be ok with a 388,but it was assembled incorrectly, I think intentionally. I came 3-4 weeks late, they told me the crankshaft, camshaft were on backorder. That is a lie,no gm small block parts are on backorder, ever. They did not include the oil pump. They said it needs to be fit for that vehicle. Non modified oil pumps are the same, pick up tube is not. Pull out tube from old into new no tools, all the same.Engine came with 64cc head and 58cc head other side, they must match. Failure in 110 miles. Inspection showed blown head gasket, sand in engine, ruined bearings, crankshaft, camshaft, hone.Engine is sand blasted, must eliminate all sand first. The ring gap was to large,I suspect stock size installed in over sized bore. They said they install cam with dial indicator and dyno tune ,didn`t do either. "ANYONE WHO HAS AN ENGINE BY BOSS MACHINE,DRAIN YOUR OIL IN A PAINT STRAINER TO LOOK FOR SAND" Company said I voided the warranty. I can`t trust their word. If I did I would not have known about the sand until 20-30 thousand miles. They did not send a warranty card. They also would not send a cam card, said they don`t exist.Desired Settlement: Since I will use some of parts I will send the bad parts, with no credit for the goods parts. Labor alone will be more than $1850.00. I am without a truck, mine is tying up a shop. I have all receipts and mechanics, machine opinions. Also pictures and everything stamped for documentation.

Review: I oredered a 383 stroker engine from this company on the 5th of June 2014 with an expected delivery date of 17 July 2014. Well here it is 29 September 2014 and no engine. Numerous phone calls were made. I have gotton the run around from my engine is done and they are sitting there looking at it waiting to be shipped on a Friday or the next Friday to it had been damaged in shipping (bent oil pan). Now most recently they have new office person and she tells me that the crank shaft is on backorder. I am wondering how it went from ready to be shipped to still needing a crankshaft. Without crankshaft engine is totally apart. I e-mailed them on the 15th of September about a refund but got no response. I am highly disappointed with the disservice this company has given. I know it takes a while to build an engine especially if you want to put it together right. If you have to many orders and to much work be honest and tell people dont jerk them around and dont rush to slap them together but by all means dont keep lying to the customer.Desired Settlement: I would like a legitamite promise date or my money back ASAP

Review: I purchased a custom built 383 Stroker Motor from them on 5-16-14. They told me it would be a 4-6 week delivery . They charged my VISA card for the total cost of the Motor. I called them the week of 7-21 -14 to see if motor was built. They said yes and would be shipped out Friday 7-25-14 for delivery. I asked them to postpone shipment due to me going on vacation and I would not be available to receive and sign for it. I have since been calling their number and only getting voice mails. I have sent them an email with my request to confirm shipment. They have not responded to any of my attempts to contact them.Desired Settlement: If for some reason they cannot ship this purchased motor, I want a full refund

Review: Back on 8/1/2014 I ordered a rebuilt motor (GM 350 vortec motor rebuilt to factory specs) It was scheduled for delivery on 8/22/2014. After many un returned phone calls and emails I finally got a response after another client from out here called the police department to find out what was going on. On September 8th I finally got a reply from the other customer out here that our motors had been shipped and we may see them on Sept 9th. The owner of Boss machine and fabrication replied that he had mad many return phone calls to "me" which he did not. Motors showed up the following week finally and my shop got ready to install it when they had the time. My mechanic builds race car engines so I trust him completely with any work he does for me. The other customer out here is Spankies, mobile repair and service. (his engine arrived that day damaged, a valve cover was bent. and none of the custom accessories he had ordered with the motor showed up. Anyway back to mine, the motor was installed 2 weeks ago and had a tap and no compression in the number 3 cylinder. I got in touch with Boss machine and was told to check the rockers to make sure they were adjusted right, so my mechanic did that. Finally at the end of October I have a motor that starts up and runs smooth. They take the vehicle up to the gas station put more gas in it and drive it back so that it gets up to temperature. When it gets back and pulls in the garage, my mechanic just starts checking fluids and finds water in the oil that wasn't there when they left. So since the motor was rebuilt and shouldn't be a problem he pulls the plugs and distributor, uses a bore scope to look at all the pistons and no problems there, then runs the bore scope up under the intake looking for leaks from the intake manifold and none there either. By this time the oil has drained out completely looking like a caramel shake because of the water. He pressurizes the coolant system and runs the bore scope up inside the pan and has water coming out inside the block. He finally determines that the number 3 cylinder has been sleeved and its running out from the sleeve. He calls me and asks for the number of Boss machine and calls them, tells them whats going on and they finally call back and tell him to use moroso cerame seal. So he does that. In the meantime I call up there to speak to the boss of the machine shop and I don't get him I get the receptionist and inquire as to who is paying my mechanic for all he has gone through working on this project to get a brand new rebuilt motor running. She tells me she will call back. The reply I got was in an email stating they don't warranty any work done outside their shop and told me that all that was explained in the warranty I received with the motor. I replied that no warranty came with either my motor mine, or Spankies mobile. we had to actually open the crates to find out which engine was whose. I never received any warranty information until recently in an email the same day as as Spankies mobile repair shop. In the warranty it states they don't cover outside mechanics working on it and if they do it voids said warranty, and yet twice they told us what to do to look for repairs, the second one my mechanic refused to go any further until he talked to their shop and was told what to do. They don't pay for shipping back to them let alone the fact that it is now 3 months since I ordered the engine and I am expected to ship it back to a guy who didn't do it right the first time?? And wait what another 3 months to get a vehicle on the road that should have been on the road in Sept?? So this guy has me pay in advance $1475.00 for a rebuilt engine that is no good, then wants me to pay my mechanic a $1000 to pull it back out plus his charges for diagnosing the problems for a week, $300 to ship it back to him and then wait until he can rebuild another one for me. That's like sending your food back at a restaurant. Everything I am telling you here is documented through emails and police reports in Oconto Falls Wisconsin. I should receive those reports today by email. And by the way there was never any paperwork that came with either engine and both myself and the other customer he has here in Winchester, Va. received anything till after he had already told my mechanic to do certain things to this engine. Personally I don't trust this cerameseal stuff to hold up on this engine and if you read his warranty and said engine throws a rod through the block he doesn't warranty it then either so its worth no more then a piece of paper. This complaint is being registered with Revdex.com, Oconto falls newspaper is asking for an interview on this situation but I will hold off until I get a satisfactory answer from Boss Machine and Fabricaion. And my attorney, who will also include his fees. Also if you look into your complaints filed against him he is also in your system under a different name, before this oneDesired Settlement: I want Boss machine and fabrication to Build another motor as I asked for, That shows up without any problems from obviously rushing this project because he was behind. A shipping label to return this anchor he sold me as a working rebuilt engine. The engine will be pressure tested with paperwork authenticating every single nut bolt piston rings cam lifters and machine work done to it. Along with restitution to my mechanic for installing the useless one then diagnostics to find the problems. And some kind of compensation to me for the 5 months down time I will experience on a vehicle that should be working already. This is absolutely atrocious the whole scenario surrounding this. Cost for an attorney, or my mechanic, or even running this motor up there for replacement all in the long run cost more then the darn job to begin with. This should ALL be on this company to make this right not me.
