I have been trying to get a hold of someone at Bote for over a month over every media outlet imaginable. I purchsed a board and it it incomplete.

Hello ***,

I hope this finds you well. I am pending a follow up from your email on 5/24 (see below). I haven't received an email from you or Shelby. This is my second encounter as we were in contact in the beginning when I was in the market for a board and I am still waiting on a quote from her. I took it upon myself to just purchase the board.

I am writing in reference to #SXXXXX purchased on 5/4/20

Please send me the following, in order to finish processing my return of the board, kula, rodrack and pump.
1. RMA
2. confirmation that I will be refunded 100% of my purchase (i.e. restocking fee would be waived)
3. return shipping label in order to return board, ku;a. and rod rack.
(what else? box credit? etc.) Please note, that I do not have the original box.

I hope other customers are not faced with my same dilemma. I am sure you can understand, that I would like to resolve this issue as soon as possible. I have not had a pleasant experience with your company, and at this time, am not interested in other products you may offer. I received my board without a fin. On May 18th, I was told that a new fin would be shipped to me Via instagram and whom ever it is that does social media was assisting me with this. I never heard from them again, despite having messaging them directly. I never received the missing fin or an email indicating when I would receive it. This is no longer a viable solution to my issue. I have made many attempts to communicate with Bote: the customer service number, online chat, email, and Instagram: to no avail. My valid concerns, expressed to your employees, have been met with sheer disregard: either no one responded or whoever responded did not have answers to my questions. As such, I need to return the defective board, and receive a full refund.

Please send me an email with the following:
1. RMA
2. confirmation that I will be refunded 100% of my purchase (i.e. restocking fee would be waived)
3. return shipping label in order to return board, kula. and rod rack, and pump

If you are unable to assist me with this, please send me the supervisor's full name, email address and phone number, so I may contact him/her directly. Also if you could forward my email, and CC me, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you for your time, and I hope to hear from you as soon as possible. You can also reach me via phone XXXXXXXXXX

Desired Outcome

I just want to return my board get a refund and have nothing to do with Bote again

I was just made aware of this complaint. It appears that the complaint was mailed to one of our store locations and not to our corporate office so our retail store didn't have any record of the interaction with the customer.

In terms of ***, he was fully refunded on June 23rd. Can you forward me the actual complaint? Thanks

Not standing by there products, warranty specifically. Dont stand behind there products at all. Making false claims about being the strongest board.
Bought this board from a dealer last August. Within 2 weeks I started noticing problems with the board. I called into headquarters and spoke with someone who basically told me that it is "normal wear and tear". After 2 weeks? Being Stored in a house? I dont think so. So I fixed these issues on my own. Then Recently noticing more and more problems. All of these problems are still in the warranty time line and they just are not trying to do anything to help. I have called on multiple issues and I have always been told, "dont worry, you bought a great board". I paid almost $2000 for this so called "strongest and most durable board out there". They say its 6 times stronger then there past boards, I do not believe that for a second because my friend has one of there old boards and it looks 10 times better then mine. He keeps his outside, and doesnt protect it. They show a hammer that drops onto the board and doesnt hurt it, that is 100% false. My board cracked the first time from dropping it on a wood dock from hip height. There marketing team honestly deserves a huge raise. They make there website look great and it really draws everyone in, until they get them in and realize they are not living up to that hype. I Cant even take this board back to the dealership that I bought it from because they dropped BOTE because they were not willing to help out when there were customer complaints. I would love to know how many places have dropped them because of this reason. I had to do something other then talk to them because obviously that gets me no where. They are so in there own head and think there so great they are unwilling to help. All of my complaints were covered under the warranty but they basically told me they will not help me. I think that they should be ashamed of themselves. Youre taking money from people who pay almost double what every other paddleboard goes for because you say they are so strong. I have seen people with $500 paddleboards that they have had for 4 years that look perfect still, and we live on the same lake so its not conditions.

Desired Outcome

I would love a replacement, I do think the boards look great but i think i got one that has a defect. I think everyone deserves a second chance and I Would love to see if it really was the board I got. If they do not want to replace it then I would like a refund especially considering all of this could have been solved last year when I made my First claim.

Contact Name and Title: *** Director of sales
Contact Phone: XXX-XXX-XXXX
Contact Email: ***@boteboard.com
***, I spoke with my national sales manager (*** Irons) to see what happened with your situation. He told me that your board was purchased from Crystal Lake Adventure Sports and that he had worked with both you and the dealer to get you a new board. DId something change after the fact? Did the dealer not get you a replacement board as promised? Bote does stand by our products, but if a board is purchased from a dealer and not directly from Boteboard.com, we try to facilitate a resolve with the dealer since you have a relationship with them and you purchased the board form them. I apologize that this wasn't resolved, please call me and I will make sure you are taken care of.

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
There really was no instruction on what was going to happen. I was never told from them if there was going to be a replacement, I dont know if it was just miscommunication or what. I guess still the thing is in the future not just for me for other people. If it is this hard to get things covered from warranty when you buy it from a dealer. Then why wouldn't you just sell them only on your site and your retail stores? Regardless of where it is purchased you still put your name on it. It is still your company. I dont want to be rude or anything it just doesnt make sense to say "not our problem" when its purchased from a store.
