I talked to the owner of the Eau Claire Auto dealership, he said he was upset about what happened, but the only thing he could do was cut the labor in half, the labor grows every time I hear from their service department, the service department makes 50% of the labor, according to Kelly Blue Book quoted in excellent condition, NADA quoted $in excellent condition, Clear Book good condition $7000, I've priced BMW's same year coupes and convertibles, all were less then $7500, I would ask the dealer to tell me what he paid for this car, an honest car dealer would stand behind his used cars, if the sales person had not insisted that they had gone over the vehicle throughly, I would not have bought the car, he showed me a Carfax report, which showed the car had 77, actual miles, which is less then all most all BMW's of that year, I want the dealer to pay for the engine install and parts they replaced, I bought the engine myself because they doubled the price when they quoted me the cost of an engine, that's when they said they found other problems, I told the owner, and the service department I wanted all the parts they replaced, the part number of the replacement parts and a itemized list of time on each part This dealership is not ethical, they are using the law "as is" to avoid doing the right thing, they sold a mechanical wreck as a really good running mechanical car, now they are trying to charge another $dollars to repair a car I owed for days So my answer is "No I do not accept their offer!"

The customer picked up the car a few days ago and was very pleased.

The vehicle was sold "As Is". The dealership offered extended warranty to the customer at time of sale and he declined. We inspected the vehicle to Wisconsin standards but had no way of knowing what the future of the vehicle would be. We understand the consumer being upset at a large repair bill,...

so for customer satisfaction reasons have gone over our normal policies to help with a labor discount. The customer understands there is no warranty on our part for this repair as they provided the engine to us. As we want to be fair and honest with all of our customers this is all we will be able to offer them.

Review: On 10/25/2013, I bought a 2001 BMW 330Ci Coupe from Eau Claire Automotive group at [redacted]. The sales person was [redacted], my father was with me, we explained that I needed something around $5000 just to get me to school and work, I saw a BMW on the lot that was very clean and had a custom paint, he said that was a very good car it only had 77000 actual miles, he said he though he could get close to the amount we wanted to pay, we asked how the car ran, were there any problems, he said his maintenance crew had gone over the car thoroughly, did not find any problems, they said they changed the oil, checked the antifreeze, checked the engine for any leaks, we test drove the car and it seems to run fine, when we got down to how much he said his manager had to get at least $8800, my father agreed to help some on the payments, so we bought the car, I drove the car to and from 7 miles South of Mondovi to Eau Claire and back, until 01/09/2014, the engine blow up, I had it towed to Eau Claire Automotive Group, they called the next day and said the engine was shot, he estimated it would cost about $9000, to get it running again with a rebuilt engine, he quoted me $5200 for a used motor, I said I'd find my owe engine, which I did for $2500, he quoted me $2549 to install it, my mother talked to the owner of the company and he said the best he could do was cut the labor in half, when they checked the engine in the shop after the engine blow, they said it was 3 quarts low on oil, low on antifreeze, he made it sound like I had let the oil get low, I said in 81 days I had lost 3 quarts of oil and most of my antifreeze, so you must have known something was wrong when I bought the car, yesterday the service department called and said the engine I bought was for a automatic, I called the dealer I bought the engine from and he said it makes no difference, to me this was another chance to jack up the repair costs, the total now is at least $7600, so 2500+7600=10100+8800=18900Desired Settlement: I had asked them to take the car back, they refused, I want the cost of the engine replacement, which is $7600 at this point, I will pay for the engine, but no labor or parts.
