Botticelli Electric

Review: We hired this company to perform electrical work in our home and experienced the following problems:

• performing work contrary to applicable code requirements;

• billing for time when no one was working or at the job site along with billing for hours during which electricians were having prolonged lunches and playing on their smart phones, all of which is a violation of the [redacted] Act;

• sloppy electrical work, including needless multiple drillings inside of walls, which were covered up with fire epoxy, to avoid detection by our architect overseeing the job;

• not completing wiring plans according to specifications for the project. The incorrect wiring necessitated a re-do by another contractor due to long lengths of wires carrying cell phone repeater signal that degrades as a function of distance from source antenna.

The electrician on site complained on multiple occasions about his boss, Donald Botticelli to me, calling him a "pinhead" and saying he was lucky he didn't quit. I also heard him bragging to his apprentice, [redacted], about how he obliterated his sloppy work by using fire calk to cover up the extra holes and cuts he had made in the walls and structural beams of our home so that our architect, who he resented overseeing his work, would not be able to find the mess.

As we have video recordings of our premises on dates when we were billed for services from Botticelli when their trucks and electricians were NOT present, there is little doubt about the over-billing issue. We also have photographs of an overloaded electrical panel that is clearly out of conformity with local electrical code. Our architect can attest to this fact as can any licensed electrician.

Botticelli continued to bill us and harass us despite our offering all the documentation we have, and is still claiming we owe them over $6,000. They are in breach of their contract because they promised to perform in a workmanlike manner, which they did not. They are in breach of [redacted] practices for billing us when their workers were not performing work for us.Desired Settlement: $1423.75 for the dates we have documented over-billing, and acknowledgment that we owe them NOTHING further, in recognition of the fact that we already paid them approximately $15,000 for shoddy work, and for time when their workers were eating lunch, playing video games etc.
