Bouchard Cleaning & Restoration DKI Reviews (%countItem)

I’m writing to day as a caring daughter and a advocate for my dad He had some water in his cellar a couple of months ago first of December His furnace automatically shut down approximately 4 inches as stated by the *** Fire Department The fire department checked on my dad after I called them To check out the water and electrical situation I called ***(located in ***) Someone recommended them and *** recommended Bouchards Restoration(Main Office in ***) *** takes care of plumbing heating. Bouchards Takes care of water extraction, water damage and getting rid of mold. These to separate companies that work independently but work with each other on a lot of emergencies situations and recommend each other From what I heard.I would have to say both these companies have good communication between each other and coordinate their times between each other They are both professional companies Bouchards was very helpful with getting things coordinated with *** for me
I was not able to be there to check things out until late that evening My dad could not get down to the cellar to observe the problems due to his mobility issues This left me to communicate over the phone With the two business. Now the problem My Dad had a real problem with The price And work that was done. The first bill *** wasalready paid the day of service Dad told me he thought the price was “Robbery”They installed a sump pump in a hole in the floor and plug it in. The sump pump that was placed was comparable to the one my dad had there The bill stated a comparable pump was installed That would make that new pump less then a hundred dollars I looked the pump up on line and found it to be under 200 hundred dollars. One of Bouchard’s employees stated that my dads sump pump had been plugged in and running the whole time with the two pumps that they had brought in Dad stated he saw to men both with a pump in hand come in I’m not sure why Dads sump pump was replaced by *** if it was working . I told Mr Bouchard I wanted a new one if the old one was not functioning properly He let *** know .I still have not found my dsump pump that was working .Im guessing that ***’s plumber took it My Dad paid them by a check but I never found the bill and I called up the next week and asked them to send me the bill in A PDF form I couldn’t find the bill and I wanted to see what type of pump they installed. The. only thing the bill said was replaced old Sump Pump with a comparable and must have taken Dads with them.
***s Plumber came after Bouchard’s finished pumping the cellar *** were planning to look at my Dads furnace as well but Dad wanted to use his own furnace company
Dad received bill a from *** week later. The bill was pretty high for the work done and the part was overpriced 684 was the total bill to install a sump pump, put it in the hole and plug it in . Second Company- Bouchard’s We have asked Bouchard ‘s Restoration several times via email and on the phone for a detailed bill I requested a detailed bill as I May be making a claim .Bouchards asked, if my Dad had plans to go through a insurance company I stated “No” Bouchard’s excuse for not giving me detailed bill after I received the first bill, which took a while to receive He wanted to talk with my Dad
Times to talk with my dad
about doing mold removal in the cellar which would entail most likely He stated 4 days with fans to dry his cellar out due to a possibility of mold. It would cost about 2000 He stated he put my dad before other people do to his situation I told him I appreciated that but I Still needed a detailed bill of the work done He tried several times to get pay directly from my dad without sending a bill I already wrote to Bouchards via text telling him to send the bill My dad did not want to have the treatment done and was already upset the bill was 900 told him that my dad was not interested getting the treatment done I told him if there was any damage it would have already happened a long time ago He has had water in the cellar in the past and his fans weren’t going to take care of that problem now . I received 2 phone calls and 2 texts requesting pay I told Mr Bouchard to send the bill to Dads mail or my email and to please send a detailed bill of the work done Dad got The bill came in in a couple of weeks It was Stated 900 for water damage. I wrote a text back stating “What water damage are you referring to” He had two men working two and a half hours to remove 4 inches of water using my Dads electricity his sump pump along with their two his sump pump as stated by one of Bouchards honest employees. (Hope he doesn’t loose his job for opening his mouth ). Often the elderly fall to the mercy of some of these people that over charge people have any choice but to hire them because I their in a emergency situation they don’t have time to compare prices guess “The Customer is always right” has gone out the window pretty much or in our case “down the Drain” I would like to negotiate a cheaper price for services rendered My Dad just wanted to warn other people a head of time do be on the alert for some of these companies that are charging outrageous fees Charging Insurance companies for work done Which may not have been done Good Communication between the client and the insurance companies concerning the work that has been done to making sure these companies are actually doing what they say they did would be ideal My Dad wants to pay for the work they did but would prefer to pay what the job is worth They used his sump pump along with theirs ,his electricity Nothing had to be moved ,just a simple water extraction of 4 inches of water that took 2 men 2 ½ hours No clean up was done No damage was taken care of .The cellar looked no different after the water extraction then before the work

Dear ***,I am glad to hear that you found our employees to be “professional,
honest, fast and very helpful.” “Thank you to you all who worked fast.” “You
all work together and coordinate everything together.” “Sure helped me as well
and great communication between all of you and your customers.” “I could not have
done it without help from your business and ***. I myself will
keep your numbers near in case I run into this situation again.” When we heard that
the Fire Department had responded to your situation, the furnace had shut down
and that there were immediate concerns regarding the “water and electrical
situation,” we pulled technicians to respond promptly. Our Project manager was up front that an
emergency response call such as this would run from 750-1200. I have many
documented texts and calls regarding our attempts to communicate regarding the
billing for this emergency call. I understand that “it is beyond fixing” and “has
been going on for years.” I am sure that it is frustrating to continue to have
these issues. We were up front about our pricing and performed our work as
asked and simply wish to receive payment for our services. Please call our corporate
office at *** with any other questions or concerns. We would like the
opportunity to speak with you.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # ***. Please add your rejection comments below; if you do not provide any details, your complaint will be closed as Answered.
Thanking for responding I can see your not willing to negotiate a fair price for your services It doesn’t hurt to try ,for my Dad I’m sorry I did not get a price quote before you started the job ,and let dad know My fault for that. When I asked to have you send a detailed bill of the services after the work was done, and I didn’t receive it , You kept insisting you needed to speak with dad and I You said We needed to sign the waiver of services that you recommended which was a cellar drying for four days with fans at 2000. I truly felt you were trying to go behind my back to speak with dad after I stated and sent you a detailed message on why we did not want the Drying Out of the cellar service . You and I spoke on the phone about sending the bill via Email. You called me two times and requested my email. Still no bill. Then I saw a review on line from a past customer who wrote He was working with a person in your company concerning his issues and the person working with him went behind his back and spoke to the issuance company. I then was feeling more suspicious that you were trying to speak with Dad about getting this job done behind my back You stated to me several times that you had been trying to get a hold of dad via phone and there was no answer. Im sounding like a broken record here . So please send a detailed bill requesting the work done Incase we decide to submit the bill ourselves My dad is ultimately the one who gives me the ok to pay his bill I’m just his advocate He makes the paying decisions You made several attempts to contact him when I had already told you to please send me the bill ,via email. You called and requested my email two times I told you could mail it instead but only I received one bill which only stated water damage This is why I stated several times to send a detailed bill of the work done So I can submit it to the insurance company my self. If I desire Yes my Dad surprised about the bill because you were using his sump pump and electricity. Along with your two pumps for 2 1/2 hours No clean up He didn’t think it should be costing so much. For the sake of all’s sanity and the million times I mentioned Please send a detailed bill (Our consumer right)If you had sent a detailed bill I would not be going through Revdex.com about my dissatisfaction I would be speaking to you personally about this bill Im glad that Consumers have the Revdex.com when we are unhappy about services or products rendered. I assume my Dad will be seeing the bill soon Thanks for listening. ***, ***’s daughter. Regards

Hello I think I found the expense that totally makes sense as To why this bill was so high This Apply plant-based anti-microbial agent to the surface area as you called it was 500 something it was added to the bill. This was nothing we approved We were not told it was going to be put on and if we were told this was being sprayed on would have refused My Dad would not pay 500 for any treatment. We wanted water removal only What would be the purpose of doing this if you recommended a four day Drying out I was told was that was suppose to take care of mold situation along with the fans ,after the water extraction I would think that that would be when you put the spray on Why would you recommend the other 4 day treatment if you sprayed this anti microbial agent to the surface if we refused the recommended treatment why would we agree to this spray and Where was this applied My father has very expensive tools and machinery down there He would not want something sprayed around on the floor or elsewhere I saw nothing or smelled nothing when I went down cellar that indicated to me that that it was sprayed I stated in my last letter The cellar looked no different then before the water was there except the floor was wet My dad or I signed no paper requesting that spray. I would think we would have had to sign a paper The only paper I recall you wanted us to sign and we wouldn’t was a waiver stating we were refusing your recommendation to do the four day treatment The water extraction as I stated in the last letter was for removal of water only What is the purpose of the spray We did not agree to a 500 dollar price for some spray to be put around. The job as I stated was a three hundred s dollar job removal off water only Done daytime work hours If you in-fact put this spray on my father nor my self authorized that No one explained this to him or I He wants to pay for the water removal and time only Can you adjust this bill with the removal of the spray that was not authorized Thanks *** To whom it may concern, Your itemized bill makes no sense to me . However I would be more then happy to pay 345.49 Which is the price after subtracting the 567.00 from the 912.49 which was your balance I’m well aware that you can not Spray the Plant-based Antimicrobialantimicrobials Without a paper signed giving permission to spray. People may have to be removed from the premises I’m sure you would be wearing protective suits while applying spray We did not sign any paper work giving permission to spray I will send this bill right out Thank You On Feb 3, 2020, at 4:38 PM, *** <***> wrote: ***,After further discussion with our General Manager, in addition to sending a detailed breakdown of your bill, we have also removed 200.00 from the total amount due. Your stories seem to be changing Why was the 125 not on the itemized bill Until I mentioned it ? This is why the bill makes no sense. I would think to spray a 567 square foot room would cost more then 125.99 to spray 15-30 is the normal price from what I read .125 was not on the bill for the price of the surface spray until I mentioned it.I subtracted 567 the sf at 1.00 square foot because I did not have a price per square foot I have since read it is about 15 or more a square foot I’m in question that any spray was done We did not sign for it We would have to sign to have any spray done You were extracting water only and not sewer water . Im paying what I stated Thank you *** and ***is. , Hi *** The amount you talking about is the square footage that we treated. There is an SF next to that figure which represents square footage. The charge for the disinfectant is $125.99. I'd be happy to remove the $200 that we offered plus this amount to you total bill. Please let me know if you have any questions.***Estimator/Project MangerBouchard Cleaning & Restoration

Great employees that go above and beyond to make our clients happy.

I hired Bouchard Cleaning and Restoration for water mitigation and mold remediation. They failed the mold expert's inspection 3 times despite being told exactly what needed to be done to properly remove all mold and pass inspection. As a result I fired them and went with someone else who passed first try.
Despite this, 5 months later Bouchard sent me a bill for the WHOLE cost of water mitigation. This was after going behind my back directly to my insurance claims department to get paid. The invoice included things that were not even completed, including machines that were never here and being charged for 8 hrs of setup when it took 15 minutes. Trying to bill insurance for something that wasn't accurate is fraud!
Thankfully I had security cameras which caught all of the above and therefore did not have to pay that.
I have since heard similar stories about Bouchard Cleaning and Restoration. I would never use them or recommend them! Hire a mold expert (Tiffany at Inspect All Maine was a savior!) and be sure they do a post treatment inspection no matter who you hire.
0 stars! (I had to put at least one to leave this review)

We certainly do apologize for the transgressions that occurred with this particular service. We were not aware of the issues surrounding this employee's performance until the homeowner thankfully informed us. This employee does not work for us anymore, as that type of unsatisfactory work is NOT what we accept as standard work done by our employees. Due to that information provided by our client, we also removed all charges in regards to the mold remediation. The only charges were for the drying of the property. We spoke with the claims department regarding our adjustments to the bill and why. We certainly share your frustration and have remedied this situation. We thank you for the information provided as it helped us make changes to improve our services by aligning the proper technician for the job. We are sorry that you had to go through this, but thankful to have found resolve so that we do not have any further issues.

Excellent service, prompt, courteous, professional and fast! Bathtub overflowed and damaged surrounding area and caused flooding in ground-level basement apartment. It was a Friday afternoon and Bouchard Cleaning was here within a couple of hours and immediately started the clean-up. Incredibly efficient and cleanup was done quickly. Bouchard worked amazingly well with the insurance company, including the adjuster. What started out as a traumatic event was handled with a personal touch. My 99 year-old mother-in-law lives in the apartment and Rick and Randy (the techs) were very reassuring to us and her. They showed compassion and were caring. From the original call on the phone with Sonja (I think that's her name) to completion, and follow-up with Brian, everything went extremely well. I was most impressed by their kind reassuring manner. 5 stars are not enough. I would absolutely recommend their service to anyone and everyone!!!

We hired Bouchard Cleaning to eliminate mold in a commercial building. At the initial consultation, their representative seemed very professional. They performed a very expensive mold spore count test (at our expense) and advised us that yes, mold was present. Then they advised us to remove parts of the walls and floor coverings that were supposedly affected by mold. We followed every advice we were given by them. We paid a contractor over $2000 to do the work. Then Bouchard cleaning came in and sprayed their chemicals that were supposed to eliminate the mold. After the wait for chemicals to dry – they did another very expensive mold spore count test – and the spore count was even higher! After the work they’ve done. There was now MORE mold in the building then before they started. We have tried to speak with Bouchard Cleaning about it, to see if they would re-do their treatment, but they were “booked solid” for next 2 weeks and we were on deadline for a commercial tenant (which they knew all along). So we went online and researched how to deal with mold - bought commercial sprayers, solutions, hazmat suits and did the treatment ourselves. It took us 2 times spraying, but finally the mold was gone and the tenant was able to move in. Bouchard cleaning now wants $1800 for their failed attempts to deal with the mold problem. As they only made the problem worse – we are at a loss to understand why we should pay that bill.

Bouchard Cleaning & Restoration DKI Response

We were never contracted to do the remediation for this property. Our project manager met with you several times at no charge to try to help you. We did not perform any of the tear out. We gave you the information for a sub-contractor who does the mold testing, which is necessary. We set up air scrubbers at your request and sprayed for mold in the area that we had discussed. Unfortunately, when your contractors removed the ceilings and walls areas were further contaminated. The actual scope of this job should have included much more as discussed when problem shooting.
We tried several times to reach you regarding this property with no answer.
