I met with *** *** yesterday, March at pm
I returned his items he consigned at our
gallery
** *** and I had an appointment that he did not keep and this could have bene resolved easily
He signed and I beleived he understanded the consignment agreement
He was upset that he did not receieve a check Jan and Feb I eplained that these were exptremely slow months and he did not have any sales to report
Then he said, "I want my money or my honey" I said, "Come get your honey"
We are not in the position nor is it our policy to purchase directly from our Artists or Artisans unless it is for the sole use of the center
I called him Monday and told him that I went to meet him and he was not there
Initially, I was just going to pay him for the honey and sell it later, but it may have incriminateed meHe may have truely beleived that we sold his honey and didnt pay him, so I packed up his honey and took it to his homeMonday is my only day off and I used it because he was not at the intended place and time we had agreed upon
He was expectlng a check, instead he receieved his honey.
He knows now, I was telling the truth
I also took him a copy of his contract and his application.
I explained he would need to reapply and initial at every space that requires accute understanding of the contract before we could more forward
So many times artists and artisans do not read, or simply choose not understand 60/split between artist and gallery
He has his honey and a copy of what was agreed
I told him that tomorrow, we may clear the slate and start over
I have found another hnoey source and they will replace him in our gallery this Friday
I will be certain that they understand our policy and sign the contract
I am attaching the contract that he agreed to on his initial visit to CFAC
I hope this clears up any "gray areas" of concern
