The reason I do not accept this explanation is the hospital placed the lien 3 full months prior to sending a bill to my health insurance company. This was a complete act of poor business practices.

Filing a lien on a motor vehicle account is a standard procedure for BCH. BCH uses the lien to ensure we are paid upon settlement of the patient's claim.
