Review: I brought in my 3 1/2 yr old Miniature Schnauzer who is a service dog. He had gotten a hold of a plastic table cloth that I just bought the night before and ate a small portion of it. He became very sick and I contacted his regular vet who I couldn't get to see since I don't drive and am wheelchair bound. When we got there they were very rude and then made me wait til after they serviced other clients. Then I got told that they had NO appointments and were only there until 12 noon on New Year's Eve and that if he needed surgery that I needed to take him to [redacted] to be seen at the Emergency Clinic. I repeated that I DO NOT drive and am in a wheelchair. Needless to say we left without him being seen. He had been vomiting since Sunday night and off and on all day Monday. They are lucky that he's still alive and recovering at home. THIS VET PRACTICE IS NOT OUT OF BUSINESS.Desired Settlement: Apology and change in practice when it comes to someone's pet coming in with an emergency.

Please note any correspondence regarding Boulevard Animal Hospital should be addressed to the sole owner and veterinarian in charge, [redacted] was an employed veterinarian approximately eight to ten years ago.

It is my understanding that [redacted] arrived at our office without an appointment in the afternoon during a time that one doctor left for the day and there was a 30 minute delay before the evening vet was to be on at 3:00pm. She was given two options.

1. To be worked in with the doctor coming on at 3:00 pm at our office.

2. For immediate service, The [redacted]r on [redacted]. She chose to leave and from what I infer she did not seek care elsewhere.

Our goal was to give the best options for her pet to be seen as soon as possible that could otTer surgery and after care, with up coming holidays, ifher pet had in fact eaten pieces of a plastic tablecloth. I do understand that her physical limitations and anxiety over her sick pet complicated matters.

Ifour statTwas rude in any way we certainly apologize. We hope to convey to our clients sympathy and understanding with prompt correct treatment for ill pets. This is a must in our profession and why we have been in business for over 56 years.

I am glad her pet has recovered and is doing well.

I hate to tell [redacted] that we were NEVER offered to be worked in. I was told in a rude way that there WEREN'T any openings and that they were only there til 12 noon on Tuesday. [redacted] is NOT an option without 24 hr notice to CARE/GRTC. IF he thinks I was seeing things,like pieces of vomited table cloth, I had a zip loc bag full of them. What does he think I am??? Stupid, NO way. I am smart enough to know to bring a specimen in when I have to!! I hold an AAS in Business Management and a certificate in Bookkeeping. I will still NEVER go near that practice again, NOT even if my dog is hit by a car!!
